How can you say you are nothing if not for your music and nothing without your mask?? You are your music, your music wouldn't be anything if not for you, it yours, you made it....and the mask, it is also you, your beautiful mind who created that mask and the idea....don't you see that?? Those belong to you and without you, they wouldn't be anything...so you are wrong because you are something and everyone who feels what you sing about, trust you are something to them.

i'm completely enamored with this man's journey and discovering this adds so much more depth and meaning that i didnt know i needed. he's such an impressive lyricist and vocalist. the way he goes from mostly head voice in these songs to leaning heavily into his chest voice in ST. the added context to lines like "these days i'm a circuit board, integrated hardware you cannot afford", and "i'll take a pound of your flesh before you take a piece of my paystub". thank you for giving us such beautiful and fascinating art, and guiding us through our own pains with your story, even if it'll never be said explicitly. worship.

Restless, why am I so restless? Just curtains to fling open, to sights of suburbian lows Answer me, why wont you answer me? You sit with my blood and bone, your fingers and head look swollen You are no match for, the life I gave When you grow up strong, will you look back at me? Cold, it's always so cold in This house that I did not choose, but otherwise what would we do? And your tiny eyes scream mother, what have you done to me? I'm bound to a life not lived, a slave to my own existence You are no match for, the life I gave When you grow up strong, will you look back at me? @KingElizardbeth Жыл бұрын
I know I’m replying really late but I’ve been thinking about this. I think it’s sung from both the mother and child’s perspective. It seems to be about this cycle of abuse that they’re most likely both aware of but they don’t know how to stop. So instead they’re just hoping that in time they’ll be able to fix things. Hope that makes sense :)
@frostfang1 Жыл бұрын
@@KingElizardbeth don't necessarily think of it being as far as abuse, but I definitely hear that myself when I listen. Thank you for your reply! Not late at all. I still think about it.

I agree most of those songs on this ep seem to be about abuse. I always kinda felt like maybe his Dad was very abusive to both of them. And that is part of what broke him first. And graves seems like it might be from someone else's perspective or maybe just made him not want to be in a committed relationship or something maybe the feeling of being trapped or like his mom obviously did. Or maybe fear that he might end up being like his dad if he was the one that was abusive.

Someone spill the beans...is Leo the singer for Sleep Token??????? I was convinced Jordan Hunt was the singer just slightly roughing is vocals but after finding this JEM!!! of a group!!! I think it's Leo especially since this group seems to have vanished. Update: Just read all the comments to mine. Didn't know there were so many. I know I will catch flack for this but here I go anyway. The simple mention of the name I drop in this comment always catches flack. Anybody want to add to what I'm about to say. This may be the best marketing ever!!! There is suddenly a new band (female vocalist) on the scene. The only song released to date literally sounds exactly like something that ST would do. There is NO info on the net about the band...NOTHING!!! The production of the music...especially the drums sounds like the same producer as ST. I've gone back and listened to Blacklit Canopys music and I'm going way out on a limb and saying this female vocalist HAS to be Gemma. The band is @breakk.awayband. To find on KZbin you have to spell it exactly as I did.
