The credits sequence is the same no matter what percentage you beat the game with, but that face more than makes up for you glitching your way in to the fight. He's just like "dafuq you just do?" XD

I got one final boss worse then that, Fable 2 the villain that kills your sister, your dog, off hand mentions he killed your wife(s) and children, and tried to kill you...and there is no fight with him, you can shoot him once and he dies or you can let him monologue and the asshole "hero" on you team shoots him instead, you then are given a choice of either resurrecting everyone who died building the tower, resurrecting all of your loved ones including your dog, or a mountain of money. Such a let down.

Pretty disappointed with Fable 2 end too, in the end the most difficult thing to kill in the game was the golems, also the final choice is a bit of a trap as getting a mountain of money yourself isn't that hard, and anyway there is absolutely no content once you've finished the game (like some quests that appear for example) Well the game was awesome anyway

I wouldn't really tell Lucian the final boss given the tower shard before the chain of cutscenes at the end of the game is the final boss to me and Lucian is just the main villain... who dies in a cutscene. I'm not saying it's good but just because someone is the main villain doesn't mean they'll be the final boss every time. Granted him dying from one attack or the other guy killing him still sucks pretty massively from a story-telling standpoint given any other enemy in the game that's human takes multiple hits even with the best stats and gear. But I still wouldn't bother to call him the final boss of Fable 2.

So I've heard. Course, the closest I've played to a Tekken / Soul Calibur fighting game is Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, which...ah...the final boss of its story mode is ABSOLUTELY like this. You NEED to know the game's mechanics in its entirety to even stand a CHANCE against him, which, given Bloody Roar's admittedly somewhat clunky control scheme, makes it WAY harder than it should be. I'll just say it like it is: after this boss fight, I WISH THAT ALL PHOENIXES GO EXTINCT!! Also, why the flying fuck is the "Normal" beast transformation on this scrawny anime fuccboi look like an Emperor Penguin, but then suddenly "Hyper" beast mode turns him in to a phoenix? I'd say that Uranus is technically worse overall, but the difference is that Uranus is an EXTRA boss fought in a separate (easily-cheesed by ringing fools out with Xion, the Half-beast...seriously, it's hilarious how broken his uppercut kick move is! XD) mode! And yeah, with her, she turns in to a giant chimera monstrosity in "Normal" beast mode, but her "Hyper" beast? She just goes hunchback like she's pretending to be a scurreh monster lady...whilst in HUMAN form! I think the devs of this game got it backwards or something! XD

Looks like a common trend for you are boss fights that are too easy. For me it's the polar opposites. I don't like boss fights that are too hard, particularly if there's a major difficulty spike between the final boss and the 2nd to last one. Best example I can think of is Grandia III. This game has it share of tough bosses, but due to the last boss being SO HARD that I had to grind like crazy (it's a JRPG) to maximum in order to have a decent chance of beating him. Only played this game 3 times. First time I was at lvl 60 and it was by pure luck I beat him. 2nd time I was at lvl 75 (or around it) and still won by luck. So I decided to max out all of my characters prior to entering the "point of no return" part of the RPG (the game had an open world concept, but after a certain boss battle it becomes completely linear). So needless to say all of the bosses I went up against were cakewalks. Oh, it took me 3 months to get to area before the 'point of no return'. Well because of how the leveling up process works, it took me another 3 MONTHS to get from level 75 to 99. Oh, the final boss was still challenging, but at least it won by skill and not luck.

They really REALLY missed an opportunity to use Necalli as the final boss for SFV. They just brushed him off for Bison. I mean think about it. An entity that only appears when the world is in chaos and powerful fighters appear that he wishes to devour. How is that not Final Boss material?!

His prologue even sets him up for this big disaster too. But nope! Dhalsim just tells him to fuck off after failing to eat Ryu and melts away. The world is still in danger and the fighters are all gathering in one place! That's the perfect time to get in on that!

he has the same problem as baraka in mortal kombat: if he wins, people die, so he is not allowed to win. he should have devoured bison, bested everyone in combat and barely get beaten by ryu who just mastered the power of nothingness under pressure. also according to the akuma prologue, you are not a goner even if you get devoured by necalli, as he just bursts out of him

Interestingly enough they let you play as Bison and let you beat Chun-li at some point in the story. I was really disappointed when I found I was playing him instead of Necalli later on. I even thought "Oh maybe it's one of those scripted fights where I'm supposed to lose." but no I'm supposed to beat him and he melts away.

i just wish they did more to make him appear as a threat. his most threatening moment was when everyone had to flee because he was on their tail, but otherwise he is just... there. basing off what you said, imagine if we could play as him where he beat someone like rashid or ken, but another person manages to save them at the last second. could even double as a heroic sacrifice if capcom is bold enough

My least favorite Final Boss as of what I can currently think of would have to be Corrupt Takumi from FE Conquest. Cramped level design with infinitely spawning enemies? Check. Having to position all your troops every few turns to avoid a bullshit shockwave skill? Could have worked if it was less frequent but check. Takumi having an enemy only skill that gives him AWAKENING STYLE SUPPORT IN FATES?! FUCKING CHECK! All that on top of him having a range of 1-3 tiles & previously mentioned respawning minions being able to 2 shot most of my well leveled party was not fun. I should mention I used the DLC grinding map quite a few times in Conquest & those enemies were still that strong comparatively. Fuck whoever "balanced" that campaign.

I honestly liked that map. It was honestly the only final boss in Fates to actually require some strategy. Blight Dragon in Birthright is pathetically easy and can be beaten in like a couple turns, and Anankos is all spectacle and no bite.

That Crash 2 boss fight was like an in between stage in Earth Worm Jim. I'd add the final form of "Sir Sweet" to the list from Prinny Can I Really be the Hero?! It's literally just an endurance test to see how fast you can rapidly attack with the Prinny while dodging attacks. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't such a damage sponge forcing you to press the attack button hundreds if not thousands of times over the course of the boss fight. It becomes literally painful causing cramps, carpal tunnel, and blisters. It's very very painful and probably not good for your hand, and it's probably also not good for your PSP. It's a boss fight for a true masochist...

I honestly think people overstate this choice on any worst boss list. It wasn't great, but the other boss battles in the game leading up to it, aside from the Ivy battle (which was at least a bit different), weren't great either. It was the first game in the series and obviously boss battles wasn't something they were concentrating on very much.

I thought Ardyn was a great final boss. I just wish we couldnt use items against him, it would make the focus on the fight that much more important. Phase 1 is great, phase 2 is good (of course you can spam ranged and win easily, but then you miss out on an awesome DBZ like fight) but phase 3 was lame. Like you said, no impact to any of the blows, and Ardyn can chain stagger you the whole fight (and you can do that to him as well).

You know, the Kingdom Hearts series is normally pretty consistent with good final bosses. Even the weaker games like Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days, and coded have decent final bosses at worst. That said, Dream Drop Distance really dropped the ball there. In addition to the baffling mechanic of unlocking abilities through what basically amounts to NintenDogs and the generally sub-par boss design in general throughout that game, the last world's bosses are nothing short of awful. However, the cherry on top of the mountain of mediocrity comes from Young Xehanort. Do you remember his secret boss fight in Birth By Sleep? Good, because he largely pulls several of the same tricks, only made beatable due to being a required fight. He's quick, hits hard, teleports frequently, and near the end of the fight he has a Desperation Move that's pretty much the ultimate "Fuck you, player" the game had to offer: he freezes time with a giant clock which you have to destroy in a certain amount of time before the clock rewinds to the start of the fight. However, the stupidest part of the fight is that it's technically not the final boss, as right after you beat YX, you are thrown into another, MUCH easier fight that really only exists because I guess Tetsuya Nomura didn't want this fight to be like the Roxas fight in KH2FM where it was just a cutscene in the original game. To my understanding, they made him easier in the 2.8 HD ReMix Collection. I have no way to verify this, but I want to think that the Square-Enix Osaka Team learned from their mistake and nerfed him on the PS4. I hope that when we inevitably have to fight him again in Kingdom Hearts III he'll be a much better boss than in this game.

Here's another idea for the Bison battle. Round 1 is a standard fight. Round 2 is a forced loss battle when he gets much more powerfull. Round 3 you switch over to Charlie Nash with Bison having an A.I, Speed and Defence buff and maybe break out the alternate costume. then the sacrifice takes place, bringing down Bison. I've never played SFV (Or any street fighter for that matter) But I is smart.

Also, yeah, if Nomura stayed as director during Final Fantasy XV, the game could've turned out much better. The worst final boss in my opinion is The Creator from Sands of Destruction. Little relevance to the plot? Check. Way to hard low level or to easy if you are high level? Check. Limited time before 1 hit kill? Check. The first phase is REALLY easy if you decided to level grind, but then the second is a little bit harder. If you are max level, which is easy to do since exp needed for leveling is linear, (You need 100 to level up at level 1, 200 at 2, 300 at 3, etc) you'll beat her extremely easily. If you are really low level (60's or 70's) you'll struggle. If you don't beat her in.... I don't really remember but I will say 20 turns, you lose. You will probably lose before then if you are low level. However, if you are high level you will just pummel her and probably beat her WITHIN 1 TURN. Her first form can be beaten with a single character which is 3-4 chained flurries if you are lucky. Her second form has 50,000 HP which is ore than any other boss. This is still not enough when you are high level due to you dealing about 25k or more damage with a single character. If you are a low level it is painfully hard, but since it is so easy to level up you will certainly be a really high level if you grind. You can be 20 hours into the game and be within 7 levels to max. This is at the final area too. 25 hours and you can complete the sidequests to get every characters ultimate weapon and armor. It is really a short game. Anyway, level 94 is more than strong enough to beat The Creator easily. If you only use store bought items, you will struggle somewhat, but the ease of getting some really OP equipment means you won't need to struggle. So choose what you want. Jecht is the real Final Boss of FFX. Yu Yevon is literally just there as a symbolic plot point for the purpose of showing how legitimately pathetic the entity everyone in Spira worshiped actually was. The entire game as a whole is a deconstruction of a defeatist culture revolving around a heinous "god", and the slaying of Yu Yevon was simply supposed to be part of that deconstruction. It's not the final boss. You can't even die during it, you get auto-phoenixed even when people fall. Jecht, in terms of both difficulty and as a conclusion to Tidus's relationship with his father that'd been talked about for the entire game, is the unofficial final boss.

Difficulty my ass. I raked the Final Aeon without even trying despite the fact that I basically never level grind ever. And for a pure story device, those 2nd and 3rd phases sure last long, not to mention Yevon can be tricky to figure out.

^Final Aeon was easy even without level grinding. Have Tidus cast Hastega, Yuna cast protect on every character and Auron do a Zombie Strike on the Final Aeon. If the Final Aeon's overdrive gauge becomes full, just have three characters defend and ready for Triumphant Grasp or Ultimate Jecht Shot.

Well the Kirby franchise is known for its "true" final bosses, they are sometimes kind of easy or hard, but the one that disappoints the most is Dark Nebula, as he is a cake walk compared to Dark Daroach, but we got some good bosses there and amazing themes for each

I fought Ripto in Enter The Dragon by glitching through the portal and he completely died in the first phase and then the credits started rolling so 11 year old me was very confused and gave up on spyro

Well understand that the idea of a "final boss" is mechanically just the ultimate test in a video game. A final level with no final boss can work, but considering everyone would be expecting one, it would just be a let down.

I know that Metroid is all the rage with the release of Dread, and rightfully so! It was so cool that I kicked off the "Awesome" category of TV Tropes' take on the game, particularly writing about the finale! And some other cool folks added to my thoughts, but it was a great experience regardless. FYI, though, the spoilers are unmarked so check it out at your own risk. (Also, spoilers ahoy for Dread in this comment. And Other M, too, but... who cares about the latter?) One of the funniest things it did, though, was throw some shade on Other M. Adam is much more reluctant to go to ZDR, Samus doesn't even flinch when she meets KRAID again, and Mother Brain is apparently mass produced in the form of Central Units now. Kinda fitting considering what Other M did to the classic villain. And by that, I mean she's a quick time event. I might have said that MB is my personal honorable mention for this list if I was confident that she even was a boss fight. Instead, all you do is scan her and Madeline shoots her! How I'd fix this issue is very simple: give Mother Brain her own power armor! Look how awesome Dread pulled that off; a villain who can outmatch Samus in terms of power, making her have to rely on her skill instead. We could have had that years before that; like, maybe the Federation could have created an armor that could surpass Samus if she became too big a threat, and given it to MB. It would have been something! And I know QTE style final boss fights aren't exactly unique. Hoyt from Far Cry 3, Didact from Halo 4, Lucian from Fable 2... The Order 1886 in general... But Other M's technical final boss was the biggest disappointment just because of how much they could have given us. You didn't need to stop with the Metroid Queen, Nintendo! Or even with Phantoon in the postgame! I can handle three different final bosses in one game. I am used to Mega Man X, after all!

I'll just comment on the bosses that I've fought. Hades' Hand was okay. It could've been a lot better. Navarro is usually one of the first things I think of when I try to remember bad bosses, let alone the last one. I just beat FFXV today, and I actually love the Ardyn fight. Babylon Guardian was kind of dumb, but getting to Lv.2 makes it a lot quicker because Sonic's Lv.2 boost is that much better. I honestly forgot Polygon Man existed. I guess I can see why now. I haven't played the N.Sane Trilogy, but Cortex in the original Crash 2 was awful, and I didn't even mind the jetpack controls.

they should've made it so that m bison and ryu were both in their v trigger for the whole fight, similar to how necalli activates his right from the start in his final showdown with ryu. And then have m bison boosted much more than he does when you fight him and make you self boosted as well. Make it have 2 phazes(4 rounds.) And voila. A perfect way to end it off.(Nash could also work. Making him able to teleport anytime he wants. A long with bison's teleporting powers in v trigger mode.)

At least Uncharted 4, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy have awesome final battles. And I actually loved the final boss battle against Father Bella/The Savior from Final Fight: Streetwise not only is it a good fight that test your skill and the moves, and combos you've gained throughout the game in a challenging but fair manner, and the buildup to it is actually good. Because at first the main plot of FF: Streetwise is retired Marine turned Underground Pit Fighter Kyle Travers has to save to his older brother Cody who got kidnapped due to getting mixed up in some shady business and after defeating the robotic gangster known as The Stiff Kyle learns that Cody's kidnapping is just the tip of a bigger conspiracy that threatens both Metro City and the entire planet, and with help from his big bro's allies from the first FF game former mayor, and father-in-law Michael "Mike" Haggar, the shinobi Guy, his girlfriend Vanessa, and Vanessa's big brother MCPD Officer Chief Sims Kyle discovers that a dangerous new illegal steroid-type drug called GLOW has infested Metro City along with those who take it get increased physical stats and as a side-effect turn into zombie-like mutants, and after an encounter with the 2nd in command of the dealers distributing GLOW Blades Kyle discovers that Cody has been taking GLOW in small amounts as way to get rid of the arthritis in his knees so he could reenter the world of Underground Pit Fighting,, and after defeating Blades Father Bella the main antagonist reveals himself along with 3 of his 4 generals all of whom are named after the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse and are basically super-mutants with various superhuman powers and then tells Kyle that he'll lose another person that he's close to before leaving with the 3 members of the "Horsemen", and proceeds to prove his prediction to Kyle right by murdering Chief Sims while attempting to kidnap Vanessa, and Kyle decides to go after Bella and his 4 generals to end the threat of GLOW once and for all and at the same time avenge Chief Sims' death, and rescue Cody and after defeating Conquest, War, and Famine Kyle catches up to Bella which results in Bella revealing to Kyle that he created GLOW because he wanted to help humanity ascend to a higher form with his ultimate goal being create a mutant apocalypse and essentially rule as a "god-king", and after Kyle declares he's going to stop Bella's plan by taking him down Bella makes two revelations the first one is Bella reminding Kyle that if he wants to stop him Kyle has to defeat the most powerful of his generals Death and reveals Death's true identity as a mutated, and brainwashed Cody which is due to Cody ingesting a borderline dangerous amount of GLOW, and laughs about how in a way it's kind of the perfect revenge on Cody for killing his big brother during the events of the first FF, and this is when Bella drops the second revelation which is the fact that he's the little brother to Belgore the OG leader of Mad Gear/main antagonist of the first FF game whom as gamers recalled met his end during Cody, Mike, and Guy's quest to save Jessica, and Metro City from the criminal organization when Cody punched him through a window, and after defeating his brother in an intense battle which somehow frees Cody from his mutated/brainwashed state, Kyle catches up with Bella who decides to kill Kyle himself and ingests a dangerous amount of GLOW turning him into a winged monster known simply as Savior. And the fight is awesome not only is it a symbolic fight because it's essentially a fight between the two little brothers of key characters from the first game Kyle who is the little brother to Cody one of the three main heroes from the first FF, and Bella the little brother to Belgore the main antagonist of the first FF, and this battle is tough but fair and it definitely shows as Bella has all of the attacks Cody had along with some diving attacks thanks to his wings.

Ryu finished Bison because it defied the Illuminati's prophecy and set Ryu up as an essential component for future stories, a wildcard. And it's clear that Nash AND Ryu were both essential to Bison's defeat, Nash inflicted wounds that Bison was able to resist until Ryu put Bison through the ringer, the implication being that neither one of them individually would be able to defeat Bison (so in other words, Nash's revival was not pointless). Also, Bison isn't gone for good (as far as the events of 3S), as confirmed by developer interviews and the fact that his ghost is haunting Ed and there's the risk he could possess Ed at any time.

I actually liked the Ardyn fight, I would have liked it a little better if your entire party was fighting him and phase 3 could have had a bit more impact with the hits from your attacks but overall I thought it was a good boss, phase 2 was definitely my favourite part of it (I'm a sucker for the power of light).
