did you make a little mistake in around 15:30? I saw the BMPCC 6K is at 50fps (HFR on), and feel like the deta you gave for BMPCC 4k is at 24 fps, as generally speaking 6k shall be 2.x times deta rate than 4k.

In my viewing opinion, I don't see a huge difference... The BMPCC 6K has a bit more of texture (sharper image), but the BMPCC 4K with Metabones is closer to a full frame. I personally prefer the BMPCC 4K. Thanks for making this video.
@xtra4u2104 жыл бұрын
Am laughing at sooooo many guys who miss the obvious on crop factor. I have several of these as well as both Metabones etc. This misguided notion of a preference for the 4K is your prerogative, but a little tip. The 6K will in every test floor the 4K by standing a metre or so further back for a real full frame look. Better DOF and more latitude in post. Same applies to anyone using a 4K model with non Metabones or speed booster as simple EF converter. Just step back and voila NO CROP........LOL. That is another reason why buying the Magicbooster for the 6K is a flawed decision. There can only be one reason for buying a speed booster....period eg if you need that one extra f stop, due to using an inferior lens. Am not criticising the 4K model as have three, and each model has its pluses etc.. Some of these review guys are so full of BS and they never think outside the box as to what is a fair money saving work around instead of this obsession with speed boosters..........get a bette fat lens lol.
@haysoos1234 жыл бұрын
@@xtra4u210 What's "better DOF"? Crazy that people still say that. You mean shallower at the same iso/aperture? With a speedbooster on the 4k, the difference is not that much for the same aperture. Also, a lot of times you want deeper focus so that more things stay in focus at the same time. Also... saying that the only reason to get a speedbooster is if you need an extra stop due to using an 'inferior' lens is just dumb. What if you want to use a BETTER lens (for your needs) with a different mount and also want the extra stop? Sure it tweaks the optics of the lens a little bit, but not enough to really matter. And at the wide end, there are many times when you can't just step back obviously. I don't see a lot of people 'obsessed' with speed boosters. It's a tool, nothing less nothing more.
@xtra4u2104 жыл бұрын
haysoos123 Some relevance in what you say, but seriously dude, these reviewers are mainly arse holes who are blinded by technology, get perks if not freebies and very few think outside the box,.......and oh, if you can't step back another metre, you are in the wrong game. Every decent cameraman should have several lenses that takes care of this situations. So for money that is a lame excuse, and BTW if you wanted less DOF and more detail, then invest in an appropriate lens. Or get yourself DJI pocket Osmo or similar. All serious fil makers have craved for DOF. For years, and now we have it, you throw in a spanner into the discussion. As I said I get the best out of each model that am lucky enough to own, but there is so much bs about that it owes me off that some poor sod hangs on to every word that these reviewers utter. Use yr head, be creative and find a $ free workaround. Don't allow yourself to be sold on some new gadget because it's suddenly jumped upon by gadget reviewers. I have approx 60 lenses and whist that is not necessary. Three or four lenses would be better option than some speed booster, or magic booster, or quip about 4K 6k Ben comparisons. All flawed comments IMHO. Extra optics whether added on the front of a lens or to its rear as in the case of a speed booster has side effects of a softer image. Eg the viltrox can be as good as a Metabones in certain conditions but not its equal towards any edge with aberration. An amateur may consider the drop in quality to be acceptable or unnoticeable, but each to their ow on these boosters. Check out test with and without, your eyes should spot the difference and if not, .......go to Specsavers in the UK for advice. Lol

@deyomash4 жыл бұрын
I dont own a bmpcc x K atm, but planning on getting one next. I am thinking about the 6k because i think its more future proof, price tagg in the end is the same after a speedbooster etc. Your point that one can not film in 4k RAW or hd RAW etc is legit. However, if my biggest worry would be that 6k footage in RAW 3:1 (which i believe stands for compression of the RAW) is too big, how about filming 6k RAW in 12:1 for example to keep the file size down? Would that look worse than say 4k prores? 1) i dont know if my pc can even handle 6k.. and 2 ) i think if it works, 6k can always be used in whatever compression if i want to have more or less detail, using compression. Any thoughts that could help?
@JustinPhillip4 жыл бұрын
yes tis true. But just keep in mind, literally every codec, except 6K BRAW is a windowed sensor. And you can only do up to 50fps in 6K BRAW. so if you plan on shooting in anything except 6K BRAW, you're sensor will be windowed, and it's quite a bit, that's why i say, something like the P4K + Metabones combo is a much better idea. Wider FOV, with essentially the same DOF (because of the speedbooster). just my thoughts when comparing these two specific cameras. as you saw from the tests, the 4K with the dummy adapter is about the same FOV you get with the 6K when shooting in full 6K BRAW. so anything other than 6K BRAW is going to be a much tighter FOV than that...which i'm not really a fan of, especially considering my lenses are full frame lenses, and the P4K + Metabones XL gives you a 1.1 crop, so that's literally only .1 away from full frame equiv.
@deyomash4 жыл бұрын
@@JustinPhillip yes. I agree on everything. I personally like 6k look bit better, but only side by side tbh. What about future? I feel like 4k is getting out of fashion already whereas 6k is coming and will do for the next years. Also reframing, picking stills is great in 6k..

@JustinPhillip4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does appear bloomy, the highlights anyways, but they may be because the XL actually technically is over exposed by 1/3 because the XL gains you one and one third stop of exposure. but i would argue that the softness is more apparent on the dummy adapter than on the XL. That was the point of the dummy adapter. Pretty close to MFT. And i only say that because the dummy adapter causes you to lose about a 1/3 stop of light. But other than that, that’s what you’d get.

Great Video but native iso for better low light performance is iso 3200 where you will get 6.5 stops below and 5.6 stops above as opposed to ISO 1250 7.8 stops below and 4.3 stops above. So by you choosing 1250, you lose more than 2 stops of low light capabilities.
@JustinPhillip4 жыл бұрын
Terra Luke Media the 3200 has so much more noise in it tho
@terralukemedia86914 жыл бұрын
Justin Phillip maybe on the 4K because I’ve owned both and shot with it for a month. The performance on the pocket 6k at native iso 3200 is better than 1250. You have to light your scene for your sensor latitude which is 6.5 below & 5.6 above. The latitude for the pocket 4K at iso 1250 is 8.5 below & 3.8 above at iso 3200 it is 7.2 below and 5.1 above. The sensors perform differently of course. Setting the same iso is not a good way to judge low light performance without taking these facts into consideration.

Plus I can record my P4k to my original bmpcc Sandisk UHS-1 64GB in 12:1 no problem (24p). P4k rips.
