Your videos are such a help. My question - how do you keep records so you remember what you are doing? I only have 8 hives at the height of the season and I keep records but still sometimes forget details during inspections. Do you have a video that explains your method?

Hello, Whats the best way to take a frame of brood from a full nuc and add it to a hive? I think if its just the frame with no bees its as simple as just putting it in, i also want to transfer the nurse bees, can i just coat everything in powered suger to mask the smell or should i use an essential oil in syrup or talc etc... Or is there a better method? Im trying to keep the 6 frame nuc happy to overwinter and also use them to help build up a natonal hive to 14x12 before winter. cheers karl

Not something I have ever done Karl. 1 full frame of brood turns into 3 frames of bees within a full brood cycle so thats normally plenty of a boost for any nuc. We only ever transfer over brood frames with no bees. If its really low on bees you could place it where a strong hive is located (swap the locations) but be sure to cage up the queen first as they would more than likely kill her if they got the numbers up.
