I agree. It’s one of the reasons I still enjoyed Black Ops 3 as well. While it did have obvious inspiration from the Cthulu mythos, it still grounded most of its plot around real life conspiracy theories and events. It’s basically a combination of the hollow earth, aliens influenced ancient humanity, quantum immortality and multiple worlds conspiracy theories mixed together with Lovecraftian influence. It even sprinkles a bit of the Knights Templar/Free Mason conspiracy theories as well.

I think that blank portrait was representing the only major character we had since WaW but did not know what they looked like, so they put in a blank - Dr. Maxis.

It was absolutely pablo, it makes a lot more sense than something like maxis. Pablo was one of richtofen's test subjects but supposedly died and got replaced by Dempsey, which is why he's blacked out. And when you play as Takeo, he says "maybe what once was is no more, but shall be again" which is implying it is pablo It just makes so much more sense than any other theory

That makes sense. Kino is a presentation of the work that Group 935 has been doing under Richthofen and Maxis. There’s the tele on stage + film reels of the zombies, perhaps the super soldier test subjects (our characters) have portraits because they’re also being presented. Takeo’s quote about the blank portrait is also applicable to Macis who is “killed” by Richtofen but comes back in Moon

Takeo's quote in BO1 Kino match up with Pablo Marinus, "Perhaps what once was, is no more, but shall be again!" Meaning that Pablo Marinus was a hero in a great war and was suppose to be a test subject but it was a failure experiment and he died and erased from the group which is no more. But then he returned in Tag Der Toten being alive as a hermit and revealed himself being a hero.

If you notice whilst going through the water tunnel or the “worm hole” it starts off as an icy tunnel and half way through, the ice is gone and it is just rock. I think this infers you are travelling to Phobos.

My theory is the reason you can only see Mars when you go through the ice tunnel and the music video shows Tag Der Toten in Phobos is because Tags a pocket dimension that coexists inside the interior of Phobos similar to Alcatraz. When you go through the tunnel you see mars through a rift and loose interior of the hollow moon.

Demsy couldn't have been born in the 1890s, he is a pfc in the United States Marine Corps. He wasn't allowed to pick up Corporal or Sargent because of hazing. Even if he had been a Sargent, he would have only been around 24 or 25. The only way around this is if he joined later in life gowever if he was born in the 1890s he would have been too old to join the USMC. I am myself a retired Marine.

Quick theory: Dempsey is Misty's great grandfather. Let's say Dempsey's daughter gets married and has a son. She would probably tell that son about her her father was a marine, which would have inspired him to become a marine. He then gets married, and one of his children is Misty.

You think it’s possible that Tank had Misty during one their many travels? There are countless dimensions so the variation of her “daddy” dying could simply have been an alternate Dempsey. The same way Richtofen stated that the version of Tank that had his soul taken had no important knowledge to impart meaning it’s possible that our characters could’ve lived very different lives like Dimension 2210 Eddy. In their final moments, Dempsey was asked what he really wanted and he said he wanted to live a simple life and hang up his boots and train recruits. My theory is that an alternate Dempsey had a child while time traveling which would distort the age gap of Tank and Misty. Share your thoughts please!

These two maps as a result of Element 115 experiments have destabilised these two map locations in space and time and shift between past/future and present. Also since the Earth wasn’t in the same point in space in the distant past/future naturally the locations would imprint themselves onto the planets that were currently occupying these particular points space at the point in time they would appear in the distant past.. Misty could be a great grandchild of dempsey and maybe dempsey’s daughter had a child who she told stories to about her dad(dempsey) and how he fought in the war and then this child of dempsey’s daughter decided to join the marines like dempsey where he eventually then had a daughter who turned out to be misty. The lineage goes: Dempsey->Dempsey’s daughter->son->Misty There could be an extra parent/child here between dempsey’s daughter and Misty

The light from a shore video has a lot of like symbolic scenes, theres one with the house then the house but the trees are burnt and stuff. I think the whole video is symbolic and matching the tone of the music. also that rock could be a representation of element 115, since that is what our whole story started with. But i do like the part about eclipse mode shang being on mars, but not tag. I think that ee is more so a call back to the old theory. what with looking at mars and hearing shang's loading music, and the fact that you aren't supposed to see tag from there should mean tag at least is in fact on earth, then you get a black loading screen to go back to the map

Pretty simple the guy tries to leave as he checks behind and tag is in the distance he eventually walks straight back into it because he’s doing a lap of a moon 18k kilometers could take someone 3 hours to walk so he feels like he’s getting away then he gets back to the same part of the moon he began with think that alone and the fact the music video has a picture of the moon and the fact that u can see mars through the tunnel is enough evidence that it’s on the moon did u just ignore the video when u watched itV

Is there any lead about the rumour that black ops 1 used real corpse pictures for the zombies textures. They did use some messed up historical footage so who knows.

I don't know if it was different in bo1 and onward, but they definitely didn't originally. They got the zombies textures from burned German soldiers from the WaW campaign bc they thought it looked kinda like zombies They might have used real pictures after that, but I don't thin so

Half Life 2 is well known for using real dead body photos for one of the burned corpses. You might be thinking of that

Well dempsy is a ww2 veteran right? And hes enlisted not an officer which means during the 40s he would be in his 20s which would mean he would be born in the 1920s at the earliest
