I've watched this several times and am sure I could go crazy in this place. So much great gear at very reasonable prices. I'm even thinking it would make a good destination for a road trip. Thanks, Blackie! A couple of questions: 1. You use an artist's image of an old-timer that suuuure looks like you. I love the style, subject... everything about those drawings. Would love to have similar hanging on the walls of my gear locker. Would you please connect me with the creator, and advise? 2. I'm a young 70-ish with my share of health challenges, so very much appreciated your "can do-you can too!" attitude. -always watch, and always rely on your wisdom. Again, thanks!

I always wore Army Boots for work so always got my boots from these places. Often I would look around & found some absolute gems including a few cargo short pocket drink bottles, a waist pack that was perfect for hiking & later on longer shifts. The pouches held a poncho, safety vest, emergency gear & water bottle.

Looked to be a Dutch Canteen Cup, beware they're a bit smaller than US and won't fit US Canteen. Same goes for Belgian Canteens Cups. French Canteen Cups on other hand are larger and US canteen will rattle around in.

Sorry Black,but there hasnt been a decent Army/Navy store in this country in at least 50years.The old ones had three times the variety of merchandise and the prices were so low it was as if they couldnt give that stuff away.

That's a good place. The local one here has overpriced poor condition stuff, fair condition very overpriced stuff, and over 50% cheap imported copies of milspec stuff. And none of it is the good useful stuff like you showed. They keep the doors open by selling civilian outdoor and work clothing and boots; the surplus stuff never changes and nothing new shows up Will stop by there if I'm ever down that way, thanks for the walk-through!

Check out the physical attributes of that l/s thermal shirt ya found there, Jackie! I never heard of that fiber and being curious, I just looked it up... Nomex has some pretty unique capabilities & traits. Awesome find!
