Hello friends!
I'm finally tackling the front window shade for the Promaster. The Promaster has one of the biggest front windows of any van and I thought long and hard about how to do this shade in an 'easy' and economical way.
Now, this is fiddly. If you are easily frustrated and impatient, then you may want to just fork out the $ to purchase a ready made shade. I, however, am more than willing to put in the work to save some money. Especially since ready made shades can cost hundreds of dollars.
I'd love to know if you made these and/or the side window shades.
Here is the video for the side windows: • Easy Van Blackout Shad...

I enjoy the careful way you do projects, neat and tidy and very nice. I like to work that way myself , even though it doesn't always work out perfect I can't work in a messy environment so I see you're sort of that same way. Those window covers turned out very well, hi from California ❤️

Have a wonderful long weekend Adelina! Great job on your blackout shades. I just did a two night test run, to make sure I have everything I’ll need, before I start my 6 month road trip on June 1st…so excited to get going. Still practicing doing some videos, as you suggested, for a possible KZbin channel. The videos are getting easier, but having a little trouble figuring out what to do with them now! 💛🌷

YOUR IDEAS ARE GREAT! ONE THING I WOULD MENTION, I WOULD USE ALUMINUM TAPE AS A POSE TO DUCK TAPE AS IT WILL NOT SUN BAKE OUT AS FAST. IT WILL LAST MUCH LONGER, MORE REFELCTIVE. I PLAN TO MAKE MY OWN SHADE/BLINDS JUST LIKE YOU HAVE SHOWN. ALWAYS THUMBS UP!

Last time I made a windshield cover I didn't remove the extra fabric. It gave extra bulk to jam if in place and to hold it with the visors and to round on around to the sides

I really enjoyed this video. A very good project as well. Have you ever thought of making “kits” and patterns to fit certain vehicles? Even putting together the kits that would cover a large or even smaller windows..? I used to sew my own clothes and I couldn’t help but to think of patterns and material kits for this kind of projects. I did them for some friends when the COVID face masks were unavailable. I used HVAC filters with other materials to make an equivalent of a 99 mask or better. Of course I couldn’t sell them and claim them at 99 hence why my friends got care packages of already done masks and materials with instructions on how to make their own masks using a sewing machine and not using a sewing machine and using hot glue…mostly for the men that got their care packages. Just a thought..❤🎉😂

I love your resourcefulness! I'm not up for creating the kits but someone should do it....hint....hint 😉. ❤️😊

If you place the reflector in the window, the fold down the sun visors, that should hold the reflector up

With technology today I would think that windshield manufactures would have created one that with a tap of a button would reflect or blackout. You have done a great job with your van. I can see that separation anxiety is starting to set in, however I'm not sure if its with Sophie or you. Perhaps both of you.
