NFS has traditionally been about road cars and street racing, but Payback included dirt and off-road events because FH3 was gaining popularity among arcade/simcade racers of the time. NFS continued the trend in Heat, too. So, it wouldn't surprise me if an Off-Road update may be coming along with a drag race update in the future?

I actually used off road tires on my drift dodge viper for all the drift zones becayse offroad tires are better at drifting than drift tires. They got a purpose but its is still kind of weird

@@PLAYER_42069 Irl you need grip when drifting, especially competition drifting. Also offroad tires irl wouldn't give more grip than drift tires? They literally have a smaller contact patch when it comes to driving on the road. Obviously this changes with softer ground.

Some races have off-road parts that cannot be avoided and some races let you choose between off-road and asphalt route. I have not done every single event in the game, but maybe there are some races that have more off-road options, idk

The only reference to off-road I've seen is to talk about it as a strategy for escaping cops...but I don't see how it's very useful for actually _escaping_ . On the other hand, for do-everything cars it does open your options up wider and help you _maintain_ performance in chases if you've got a decent enough car that putting off-road parts on it doesn't affect the on-road performance appreciably. I gave my Evo IX off-road parts for a rally build and it's perfectly respectable on-road too. I suspect the reason nothing goes much beyond 245 mph is to do with how fast the world data can be processed. In a circuit racer like Gran Turismo they can fit the whole drivable area into memory, whereas in an open-world game it has a lot more level data to manage. A decent PC won't struggle, but e.g. an X-box series S might not be able to actually get the world processed fast enough to actually show it on screen.

it can still not even reach 400 KM/H. its pathetic. this game itself for aome reason fucks up with top speed, i REALLY think they dont know how to balance top speed because in payback, everything was hard locked into a certain top speed except the regera which had considerably higher top speed, and it was obviously the OP car in the game (the beetle and RSR were OP too but all cars had a limitation that only the regera didnt had) and in this game your top speed stats most of the time means shit because the cars cant reach that top speed. you have a car that says it can reach 330 KM/H but you go floor it on a highway and its stuck on about 260 and even with nitrous it struggles to break the 300s, its simply stupid.

The Chiron does not turn because it is how it is in real life. And no it does not do 300+mph, it is the chiron supersports 300+ that can go 300mph irl. Yes nfs has slowed the bug, but not by that much as people think.

it cant even break the 400 KM/H mark which was a special thing for the REGULAR VEYRON in THE EARLY 2000s, the chiron even if the regular one should be paired with the SS version of the Veyron, but it cannot. tbf this whole game has fake top speed stats and a lot of the cars struggle greatly to even break the 300 KM/H mark when they have stats saying they can break 330 and above.

So the question why is there off-road tires is verry simple. You have Jeeps in the the game, the tires are just for them and to make it more simple for the big cars in the event in the off-rode mode like takeover to be more durable for the race not in the all events, just in the takeover to be more aggressive and not slowing down. Try some of the jeeps with the offroad tires.
