Three things: 1. I am 100% sure that 1B people did not watch the video because 100k of those views are from me. 2. Honestly, I felt the same when I first watched the video. It was pretty underwhelming to me at first, but listening to it and watching it more made me see that the video slaps. Them getting a billion views was a huge accomplishment because they are the first K-pop group to reach 1 billion views ( out of any K-pop boy group or girl group). The first video to ever reach 1 billion views on KZbin is Gangnam Style by Psy. As for the entertainment company Blackpink are in, YG entertainment is a shit company that is misogynistic and gives very few comebacks to Blackpink. Despite the fact that Blackpink bring in the most money for YG, they only have 13 songs to their name + 1 song they featured on with Dua Lipa. YG may be a horrible company, but it does not mean the views are bought or inorganic. I’m honestly confused by what “deserving of 1B views” even means. The girls all worked so hard and got through so much (plus years of training!) all while working with a horrible company. If I may break it down to you, this song is a staple song for the group. Even other groups knows this song and sometimes sing or dance along to the music. This song also the one that draws a lot attentions towards them, internationally. Especially after they were invited to perform at 2019 Coachella Music Festival, in which the girls garnered a lot of heat/buzz/clout, so much so, that it might be as well, count as a concert. Which in turn, blows them up even more and the view also skyrocketed, following the rises in their fan base counts, especially international fans outside Asia. This is the reason why their song view counts, rises quite sudden and leaving the closest contender, instead of the allegations that their company, bought the views. The song itself, becomes no 1 on view counts for Kpop group, around January this year, following their success concert in Korea and Japan Dome Tour in late 2018. From that point on, their fan base grew exponentially. We can see that easily if we saw their subscriber numbers which jumped from under 20 million to 31 Million in just a few months. We could also break down the view counts itself from that. Let assume that post 2019, their subscribers are in the 18 Million and the view counts at that time is around 600 Million. We could get 33-34 views per subscribers. And let say that they gained 10 Million new subscribers after Coachella. It only took the new subs around 40 views per person to get the 1 Billion number, assuming that the earlier fans did not continued to viewed it. It is not uncommon for people to watch a video around 33-40 times or more, especially if they are fans. It's like watching a video that you like, everyday for a month or so. Far less than excessive views of 100 or even 1000 views per fans. Even if we factoring some other factor and cut the subscribers in half, we still get around 66 vies per fans. The buying views theories being thrown around were just that, theories by haters who are jealous. Even reaction videos of them, dance practice, lyrics, dance covers, fancams easily hit 100k-1m-100m without any need to purchase ads. From what I understand, DDU-DU DDU-DU was part of their comeback, so it was incredibly hyped, contributing to the high view count. I personally like this song *far* more than "Kill This Love," from a musical aesthetic standpoint. My favorite of theirs is "As if its Your Last." Their aesthetic is A+ and their personalities outside of their music videos is A++, but I feel like their choreography is a hard B- at best. Then again, I'm a Girls Generation stan, so it's a different world of Kpop for me.

Yeah I gotta say it is slightly similar to Kill This Love! There are many saying that it gave us what Kill This Love never gave us in the music. It can be argued either way based on opinion. My opinion is I prefer Adios, as I listen to it a lot more. But both are great quality pieces. Love both BLACKPINK and EVERGLOW.
