another thing people seem to miss if you add in the solos and covers they have about 30 songs which from west is about average as it takes 2 to 3 years to do a album of 15 songs so 30 songs in 5 years is where a western around would be around. The members actually have More input than most people think... much of it they were not getting credit for. In the North Americian Rolling Stone interview with each of them(with them on the cover). in her interview Jisoo mentions this, that they don't get a complete/set song... that they have a lot of input.

People almost always misunderstand what YG meant with "this time I want them to look pretty too" because it is always presented as that statement alone without the context of the statement. YG Entertainment has been known to debut artists with the TALENT first and foremost, foregoing the Korean Beauty Standards. That was why during the time prior to the debut of Blackpink, many of their artists are called "UGLY" by many netizens and media. That is were the YG statement stem from, the meaning was that with Blackpink, he will be debuting an artist WITH THE TALENT and BEAUTY that conforms with what netizens, fans and media think as beautiful. It wasn't a diss toward 2NE1.

What no one ever talks about is the whole "ugly" thing actually started from kpop fans and the Korean general public back then. It was the people that first labeled 2NE1 as being "ugly". also want to add in Korean there are several terms for "pretty" in kpop mostly two there is "pretty" as in princess and "pretty" as in cool (gross understatement of the difference but probably the best, YG was known for the "cool" version, which doesnt sell albums much (but does well on ULs), 2NE1 was very much the "cool" version, Blackpink more to the "princess" side). anyways was a dumb statement, because it was bound to be understood as the video understands it, because social media. it is not tied to gender, my Korean teacher was very adamant about most boygroups being the "princess" kinda pretty as it sells more

In fact their middle name are swag and charisma. Among the biggest labels in Kpop, BLACKPINK's company (YG ENTERTAINMENT) doesn't skimp out on the budget for all their artists' videos. YG ENTERTAINMENT by the way is the biggest label in Kpop and in South Korea known for their hip-hop roots. hey, i think you'd like to watch the doc on netflix, it gives a very good understanding on them and the kpop industry! also, you should totally check jonghyun out, he was a member of shinee and one of the first -- if not the first -- idol-composer, known for making his own music. his songs are some of the best out here. seventeen too, does their own thing, I really like woozi, the member who does the most producing. besides them, there's also g-idle, soyeon does almost everything that they release, and pentagon (i forgot his name, i think is hui? he is a known producing genius), and stray kids, their members are also involved in the making of the songs, especially 3racha. there's others, but these were the ones i could think of (i mean, i also think ateez also has members that work on their stuff).

Blackpink's contract ends is 2023. Yes, they make crazy money but I don't think the girls would resign it and do this for 7 years again. I'm scared that they will be remembered as of the most mismanaged group ever, not the biggest girl group. They are more models/influencers than idols at this point.. I just hope they are happy. My heart breaks when I think about Jennie saying during the concert she would want to sing 10 more song if she had more. It's just so sad.

Unfortunately. BLACKPINK often not get the credits for songwriting because of YG's mismanagement. For example, Lisa wasn’t accredited for songwriting of Love To Hate Me. However, during an interview, Tushar Apte (one of the producers), reveal that Lisa wrote the rap verse for that song. But she didn't get the credits for her work. Another time is when Lisa admitted that she wrote the rap verse for As If It's Your Last during a live Korean interview even and this was all over the Korean news. However. she still wasn't accredit for writing As If It's Your Last. This happens many times. However, it seem like YG starting to learn their lesson recently. For example, each of the BLACKPINK was accredited for songwriting recently. Some examples of this is Jennie and Jisoo was accredited for writing Lovesick Girls, Rosé was accredited for writing her own solo songs, and Lisa was accredited for writing SG. The girls actually write and contributed to their songs but they are not credited for like sure thing Jennie and lisa wrote their rap part, as if your last Lisa wrote her rap part, Lisa also wrote her part in love to hate me, Jisoo and Jennie takes part in stay and so on.. YG is holding the girls back and it’s frustrating for blink. They have less control over their songs and comeback because of the contract that they had of course comparing to BTS they have way much less freedom to their music. Some people hate blackpink because they think that they are just an object that YG uses to have benefited and said that the girls got no talent since they don’t write or participate much in the process in making music. And I feel like they do but YG keeps it behind the scenes. I really wish blackpink have more freedom like BTS.

Not only the Korean lyrics but the english versions, and in that time they didnt release the "The Album" Btw yeah YG said that BP would be a 2NE1 but better/pretty, ngl this was kinda disrespectful to their own group I mean how he called his own group ugly wth, but u know we all talk about how the girls suffered a lot to be the best ones and how they were a success even in their 1st week of debut BUT a sad fact: dont think their debut was a full sea of roses, because... well remember when YG said their new girlgroup would be a 2NE1 but pretty? I think with the comment of , making a pretty version of 2ne1 was kinda not in context because at that time when 2ne1 debuted the public didn’t deem or think of them as pretty especially with them being a girl crush group, YG at the time focused more on talent then looks, it was the same for Big Bang early in there career too, Isn’t wasn’t until black pink and treasure debuted where they mostly focused on visuals first and a bigger audience though everything else did indeed happen tho that’s why there is some tension between blackjacks and blinks

There already some clarification in the comments, but i'd gonna say it once again that you guys seriously need much more reliable information about BLACKPINK rather than this one self-research documentary... Like based on this reaction alone i can tell that there's still a lot of misconception about the detailed histroy within the writing process of all BLACKPINK'sn songs, idk why but seems like you guys still clueless about few things about them and somehow you guys also got so much false perception toward YGE's management toward BLACKPINK... Sorry man, I need to be honest with you. I love BP, I really do, but I can not enjoy more of this BP reactions. There are so many other talented girl groups - aespa, (G)I-DLE, Twice, Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, ITZY etc. I waited enought time for other reactions, but they didn't come. It is his channel and he wants to react to BP, so be it. I subscribe to other great react channels where I can watch any kind of stuff.
