What made the Coachella special was the fact that the audience was not a BlackPink crowd. There was an extreme feeling of uncertainty and excitement. it was the first time they performed in the US. And it was the largest crowd they ever performed in front of. They all have said that their Coachella performance was the greatest time they've had since debuting. They also said that they were so hyped right before coming out on stage that they had to really focus to calm themselves down. The Tokyo mixed version on the other hand, they were able to be relax and playful. It was a friendly and familiar crowd where it was easy for them to feel at home and be themselves. Besides, the mix version itself is a more jamming song than the original. So the comparison is clearly a case of apples and oranges.

I agree that the energy is better in the Tokyo Dome Remix, but here's some context: The Tokyo Dome version was an encore at the end of the show - the crowd had been great and the show was behind them and they could just let their hair down and have fun. The Coachella version was the opening number of their very first show at Coachella. They had no idea if anyone would even know who they were, let alone be there to see them. They were super nervous about being the first Kpop group to appear at the event (a Korean hip-hop group had performed a few years earlier). They had no idea how big the crowd would be (or if there would be a crowd). You can literally watch them go from nervous to hype throughout the performance as they realize how much the crowd is into it.

Blackpink was very happy during their Coachella performance becoz they thought no one will love their music since most of the audience are not their fans. They mentioned that even only 100 people will cheer for them will be enough 🧡

Energy was higher from fans at Tokyo because it was their concert. Coachella was a mix of crowd there for other artist. However BLACKPINK ended up having the largest crowd and stealing the show. Lol
