Hey Mr. Jones . . . I'm afraid you may have fixed a symptom but not the disease. The original amp may have failed due to moisture (which could ultimately kill your new amp). The moisture may be coming from the Quarter Pressure Vent Duct Assembly which is right next to the amp. Apparently it is pretty common for these duct assemblies to degrade over time and let moisture get in. You may want to inspect and/or replace yours before the new amp is damaged.

This fix was great and i appreciate it. After buying several used amps on eBay (which turned out to be dead on arrival after plugging them in and not working after plugging in), i took a chance on the es350 amp after seeing this video. It worked! Thanks Mr. Jones! However, the power output etc. to the is250 speaker system via the es350 amp resulted in heavy distortion to the subs and whatnot, BUT, I finally figured out how to tune the settings for optimal sound for the is250: POS REAR, FAD-F2, and tuning the equalizer to BAS 4, MID 2, and TRE 2 (the eq settings are for my specific listening tastes, so eq settings are up to whatever you prefer) This will distribute power to the sound system in a way better suited for the is250 with very little to no distortion.

Yeah it's the AMP for sure, I thought the same and then one of those years, I think within 1 or 2, the AMP stop working (no audio). Just buy a spare AMP when you find a good deal or it at a junkyard to keep in hand when the AMP does go because it will in it's rightful time 💯

@@AWordFromMrJones Worked like a charm! I have music again and it only cost me $80 for the ES350 amp on eBay! The old amp had signs of water on top and in all of the connectors. I partially sealed the vent next to the amp so hopefully this one won't get wet.

Hopefully you'll find a solution, I would recommend to shop around for the IS250 amp and defiantly keep an eye out for IS120 or IS350 at the Junk Yard. The OEM amp is the first item to sell of those cars.

Hi , I wanna relocate my amp so that I don't have that problem with moisture again with my replacement amp. How did you get the wiring harness out and do you know if there are any harness extensions so I would be to put the amp in a different place, thanks.

@@dongoggine Unfortunately you cannot relocate the amp completely but there is enough wiring to move the amp around from its currently location. I had moved my replacement amp to help it vent properly. I did not drive the car much to worry about driving it on a rainy day. But that’s something you might want to consider if you will be opening the trunk when it rains. Hope you find a solution. Thanks

Yes indeed! I heard pops every time I turned the radio on. Also when it rain, it would be impossible to get it to turn on, you would have to turn it on and off multiple times.

Not that I noticed, one guy said he noticed something but I have not. I would say try to find a IS AMP first but if you can't find it, go with the ES AMP and look for a shop to repair your IS AMP.

Did the amp switch change the sound quality? I have a Lexus es350 and my daughter has a is250 and her sound system sounds way better than my ES 350.

They are a bit different type of speakers, also the IS250 does have 2 different type of AMPs, one is high end compared to the standard amp. But for the most part I was looking to resolve the issue and save cost since a IS250 AMP around here is $300-$400 dollars which was not worth the investment as I could replace the whole audio system for the price.

@@bryantking5646 eBay by a business that resells auto parts. Be sure to check the description and reach out to the seller to ensure that the item works. That’s the best way I could find mine at a bargain. The junk yards are also a good place but the OEM AMP is often taken by the time it placed in the yard.

does the original bracket fit onto the gs amp? if not, how did you secure the new amp?

I did not reinstall it in the bracket nor placed it back in it's original spot due to the fact that the original location is what caused the amp to fail. That particular location caused for moisture to build up inside on the amp which will eventually cause it to malfunction. So I just pulled the wire harness out some so the amp can rest inside of the trunk. If you want to store the amp in it's original location, I would recommend that you drill some whole through the "black cover" that hides the amp so your amp will have a better chance to vent and be protected by any other elements when you open the trunk.

Almost same issue. The only difference is my fuse keeps radio fuse keeps blowing. I read some forums that the blown amp could be causing the fuse to be blowing. Would you know anything about it?

Yeah a faculty amp could play a role. Also upgrading the speakers could also play a issue. If you did not upgrade the speakers, I would inspect the AMP for an visible damage.

Yeah that’s exactly what mine would do before it completely failed due to poor AMP ventilation. I would first try checking your fuses for the AMP and radio to ensure they aren’t defective. If they check out ok then I would search online for a AMP replacement. Mine worked for 2 years once it started acting up.

@@abo0udahmad255 Did you replace it with a used IS amp? If so, it sounds like that used amp is also defective. My initial issues was that when it rained, my audio would cut out. That's due to the moisture buildup the IS amp's experience because the location Lexus put the amps. Over time this moisture is going to cause issues with the amp motherboard and you will experience issues which you do not hear audio from the speakers. I would recommend to purchase a ES amp and be sure to install it above the black plastic cover. Basically stick the amp inside of the trunk but put something over it to cover incase you open the trunk while it's raining.

Do you have any sound from the front speakers? If so, then it would be a speaker or wiring issue. I would buy a cheap speaker and use that to test and see if your getting any sound. If you do get sound with the TEMP one then you would need to replace the speaker. If you do not get sound from any speaker, then I would first check your Radio/AMP fuse and then look at replacing the Lexus AMP.

Sorry to hear. What type of amp did you buy (IS250/350 or the ES350 amp)? Also, where did you buy it from because it's very much possible you might bought a bad amp, especially if you bought it from a junkyard. Personally, I bought the ES350 amp to avoid the headache wit the IS250/350 amp.

Your best bet would be to jump on eBay and run a search for “2007-2009 LEXUS ES350 PIONEER AUDIO AMP AMPLIFIER 86280-33150”. That’s the AMP I had purchase as a replacement since the Lexus IS250/350 AMP is expensive!
