Thanks for showing us around the Norbreck Castle Hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the rooms as they all look clean. Just wondering if you checked to see if there are mattress protectors and pillow protectors, as not every hotel or B and B uses them. I can remember going to a function with my husband here many years ago, and we had a really good time.

@@lornaburgess9762 apparently it used to be run down but they have a new team of management and staff there and have been putting down new carpets and furniture they are always working on it I really liked it thought it was great I will go again x

I've just come back from Norbreck and its nice to see they are still doing upgrades around the hotel. Plus they have started to replace the door locks, love the new one's. Old one's often didnt work or took a number of times to open. I was over from Thursday to Monday and yes I did do the Play Expo at the weekend.

Yeah definitely I think some people demand for perfection and it isn't always possible, as long as repairs get done it's all good and it's lovely and clean x

My Mum and Dad used to stay in this hotel in the late 70s early eighties…and it was considered quite posh…they loved it!

Looks a nice decent hotel Katie your room looked absolutely fine despite reading negative reports about this hotel. Walk With Me Tim did a review here a couple of years ago. The Play Expo exhibition A Walk On The Wildside did a review last year, it was all about old arcade machines and home video games looks really good. I had a good laugh at your mistake of sending takeaway food to the wrong hotel🤣🤣food looked good anyway. I don’t know about you but I could never fancy getting into a plunge pool or jacuzzi with several other people just doesn’t seem very hygienic 😝

Hi love It does seem a lot of reviews are based on how it used to be and I don't think all of the rooms are finished yet from what someone was saying so if they get an old room they will leave a bad review I forgot to go in that expo room it was absolutely huge x

Hi Katie Thanks for another great video and once again this hotel is very nice and beautiful rooms and facilities as well. They look after the Hotel very well and Yes you are right when buildings get old they always need attention as things like damp can happen as long as they keep working on the problem it wont cause any serious problems of it getting any worst i am in construction here in Canada and have fixed many of these problems with damp and musty smells. Anyway on the whole a beautiful hotel and as always i love waks around the corridors and the facilities. The norbreck castle is a beautiful place and very reasonable in prices. @@MyersFamilyVlogs1 in the gym we stayed there for a week i was im there 5 times no body else was there stopped going because of state of ot outside at the main recepition mentioned to the staff they wasnt interested plus the smell of smoke all in the hotel great food though but room was shaby and worn asked for a change of room reception said they was full thats a lie i said carpark was empty but hey thats only my oppion x

I’m planning to come next year for Ceroc, the only thing I would say for the accessible rooms is that if we can showers where we don't push buttons and just simply twist that would be better. I have joint issues and can't push buttons. But looks great

Hi Katie excellent video the norbreck castle hotel now i have seen it wow it looks nice Katie you can tell they are doing it up the work they have looks amazing the entertainment room looks massive and swimming pool looks great and a cinema happy days i think people look at reviews you should stay at the hotel and see for yourself trip advisor is not always right it does look 100/ better i think have looked at everyone reviews and they done a lot of tlc work the hotel as loads of rooms where you can have functions and the breakfast is great and self service buffet im say happy i have seen it on your channel Katie looks excellent thanks Katie for a excellent video of the norbreck castle hotel take care Katie ❤from Keith 👍👍

Brilliant Katie. The Norbreck seems to be like Marmite. You love it or hate it. I've never stayed myself, but Yvonne has and hated it. I know what I'm asking Santa to put in your stocking. A bag of hairbrushes! As for the delivery, I actually facepalmed! That was hilarious. I stayed in an Hotel in Carlisle with a pool and had no trunks. 1am I had a plunge in the scud. Not a pretty sight. Well done Katie. Hope you are well. xx

Yes I did ask as I ordered a takeaway and I'm assuming you can in the rooms I saw nothing to say otherwise but I did see a sign in the entertainment lounge saying you must not have your own food and drinks In there

Britannia Hotels, (who own Norbreck), have refurbished many rooms, and communal areas, recently. New carpets, bedding, furniture, sinks, toilets, freshened up paintwork. You were in a room such as this, Katie. Only know as daughter worked there for a couple of years......🐱 Great review, (shame you missed out on the pool/jacuzzi, Katie...). Maybe next time.....x🎆🌈🙋☺

Place is a dump, you can see even where they have fitted the new carpet in reception and it’s just ripples every where, hasn’t even been fitted properly, only ever stayed there once, was in early Feb, very expensive for the time of year, the window had a massive crack in it and the the actual window was open and you couldn’t even close it cause it was broken, they refused to change my room and said they were fully booked which I don’t believe cause like I said it’s a dump, only good thing about it is the breakfast, would never ever stay there again, shocking!!!

Quite shocked at how decent that is for the money. I have heard a lot of bad stuff about this hotel but it looks like they are finally listening and done a refurb. Personally I avoid all Britannia hotels, they have a habit of taking over beautiful hotels and neglect them so this is a pleasant surprise.

@@MyersFamilyVlogs1 I think it's a popular place to dislike and it's kind of cool to slate it unfortunately. Madonna directed WE which some people see as a sequel to Kings Speech but she wasn't in Kings Speech itself. Colin Firth, Michael Gambon and Timothy Spall were in that one.

Makes a change to see a positive review of a hotel. I have noticed a lot of hotel reviews are very negative sometimes with justification others not so fair. I get KZbinrs need a bit of drama in there video's but it can give the impression that every hotel is the same and can damage their trade how many hotels have lost business though a biased review on KZbin? I used to work in hospitality.it's hard work and difficult to make a living out of it.

I completely agree at the same time of me posting this within a day or 2 a big youtuber posted a bad video about this place I also filmed a £24 a night one recently that had some awful reviews I found it really nice I asked the owner he said 2 things, 1 people pay £24 and expect 5 star and 2 - they had one room in need of work and another member of staff kept booking people in there

Hi helen, I think there's 2 reasons for bad reviews, it did used to be very run down but they have been putting work into it, I'm not 100 per cent sure but I don't think all of the bedrooms have been finished yet from what people are saying, I got one of the newer rooms, but the facilities are great, the food was perfectly fine and the staff were nice x
