I love that scared look on Mordred's little face when Merlin brings out the fire. Don't get me wrong, in the Arthurian myths and legends, I always had a soft spot for Mordred, but at the same time I also enjoy getting to see the bad person be punished in return. I loved Mordred in this show, but I knew that one day he was going to grow up and then all hell would break loose. Really, all the actors were superb. I loved that series more than anything!

It's impressive how despite where he lived, how he was treated, he didn't end evil. With all his power he could roule Camelot from shadows, manipulating Arthur and the knights like a marionnettiste. But he didn't. His kindness and devotion for Arthur and Magic made him such a sunshine. Love him soo much. And my heart hurts for him knowing the everything he did in the end was not reworded.

for people who didn't read the books and the many versions of legends, sure. for people did some research into the arthurian legend and the medieval times and how merlin embodies the values of the old and the new religion then this history is totally imposible, in the legends this two are mortal enemies and never friends, they did had though kind of a dark relationship but merlin never trusted her.

+Gvkkk Hh when did the new religion existed? around the 5th or the 6th? in the show merlin does actually embodies the new religion, but he was also (in the books) someone to be feared, even the dragons as creatures of wonder and magic did respect him.

+Hadj Rhruz mmm probably around the 6th, merlin did live with the new religion without any problem, arthur did had those values as well in his reign. (one of the many things he changed from uther's reign). the 6th age marks the history between the barbaric days in medieval times when for example a crime like high treason against a monarch did receive a really cruel punisment, woman convicted of high treason were burn to a stake, man did paid with an slow and painful death. the show also mentions adultery but we never see what really happens to a person guilty of treason, sometimes i really wanted this show not to be so light because high treason was a big deal; funny enough morgana is been doing high treason for the very first season in the show, what happens to her in the end is nothing compared to what she really deserves. in fact in medieval times they will probably give morgana's body to the dogs or something even more traumatic. merlin in the show has the values of the new religion, but he is also someone pretty damn dark. He doesn't feel any mercy for his enemies, he can be the most dark and cold hearted man if someone piss him off. morgana new this very well in the books. there are others things that i was going to mention and i can't remember right now, but the arthurian legends was really dark. And the medieval era even more so.

Morgana is evil from the very begining, but in the end she feels sorry for arthur and the journey to avalon is with the two sibblings, merlin is also included to leave arthur in avalon, merlin work together with morgana taking him to avalon and merlin waiting in the lake. there arthur rest to rise again. high treason still existed in arthur's reign tho but arthur was loved by everyone so treason wasn't a problem to him like it was to uther. Arthur wanted equality because in those days, knights for example even as wealthy as they were could not sit next to a king, they could only talk when the king wanted to listen to them in a official court meeting, the round Table was actually a beautiful change in arthur's reign, how arthur wanted to listen the opinion of others not matter if you were a knight or a servant. bad things about this show: they focus to much in the druids and they made the mistake of making them all powerful when that wasn't even true. The druids had a low level of magic and their belief were in paganism. The druids possesed knowledge of herbs, spices and other medicines which they used to heal people and the people thought they were powerful. the only powerful ones are merlin and morgana in the legends, both of them far to powerful to be druids, they were more creatures of the old religion. But merlin never learned magic and was too powerful even without any training, he was a shape changer and expert in the elements, he did had conections with the spirits of the nature (watch the darkest hour part 2), in the books merlin can turn an entire army in trees, he is the master of illusions. Morgana was though better with healing spells, in some version morgana belong to the 9 in the lake of avalon, i think that her last name le fay translate to something like faires. Morgana being a high priestess is right but merlin is far more powerful than her.
