Really nice Tim, just so happens I have 6 pieces of 1 1/4 plate cut into 5 1/2 discs with 3/4 hole in the centre! This idea has just come from the Gods, its perfect use! You must be a prophet, all hail ‘TimBigDog’ !! Great mate, keep on banging hot steel,oh, and all the other weird things you get up to! Still waiting to see the final result of your buddy’s truck, cannot imagine how that turned out!

I watched this video with great interest because spiral candleholders were the very first items that I sold when I began blacksmithing in 1971, while still in college. Thanks for the video.

Thank You for this video! It actually took my mind off this nightmare for a few minutes. I really enjoy your videos! My Grandfather worked in a Machine Shop at a coal mine but he was a blacksmith at home with his forge. He passed when he was young and this brings back memories and some of the questions I wanted to ask him and never had the chance. Thanks again!

Good to see someone make one of these that knows how. They were a big item at the Pioneer Village I smithed at so I made a jig and started making them as best I could figure out. The very last one I made had a heart for a handle, I liked that one the best. The one real good thing I picked up here was using that pipe to finish them. I always just removed my jig from the vice and held it in the forge while heating up the rod to finish it. Something I found out, is if I use angle iron on the bottom I can clamp them in the vice or use a C-Clamp to attach them to my anvil.
