Hey Roy, thinking about a similar project to this one, but of course will give you a shout out on it, you continue to be a great inspiration for me.

You both mention each other a lot so I don't feel bad about mentioning his channel on yours. I got to say how fun it is to watch both you and John at black bear do these Christmas ideas. All these little projects have a lot of technique packed into a small package. And I don't think I've ever realized how important a slack tank is, as a tool, in shaping your work. These are all fantastic learning videos and I can't wait to put them into practice at my buddy's anvil. (Anvils) he's an anvil hoarder. Thanks Roy.

Great job well done ,I like using a peice of pipe about a 1/4" long welded to a round plate welded to the base so even if you pull it out of the jar and tilt it it wont fall off

Thanks for doing the mason jar candle holder. I saw it in your slideshow, and I think it's a really clever idea.

Hey Roy! I've been making these for a little while now and I've found better success from a production standpoint using a flat pad for the candle and folding the corners in at my small vice and using a roofing nail as my rivet. The head is very thin and flat, and much easier to produce a small domed rivet head on the bottom with the added benefit of holding the candle very securely to the pad sitting flat on the bottom and the corners preventing it from sliding in any direction

Hey Roy. To convert inches to mm and mm to inches the formulas are as follows. For inches to mm it's (inches x 25.4 = mm) example. 1 inch X 25.4 = 25.4mm. To convert from mm to inches it's ( mm / 25.4 = inches) example. 100 mm / 25.4 = 3.937 inches. To answer your question of what 1 1/2 inches squared in mm, it is 38.1mm sq. 1.5 inches sq. X 25.4mm = 38.1mm sq. Formulas: inches x 25.4 = mm mm / 25.4 = inches Those are the formulas we use to machine parts off metric blueprints.

Roy 11\2" is 40mm in metric, closer to 38 more than likely. we tend to round things off here in Australia.

curious creation, but you forgot the candle putter outer thingy aka a douter or a snuffer, well a snuffer was actually the wick trimmer shears before the self triming wicks were around fun fact of the day, though I suppose its much more fun to just pick it up and blow it out with a razzberry sound or send the kids in to do it, they seem to like blowing candles out, I know I did heh

I recently started following you, I enjoy what I have seen so far, I have two questions with the candle holder. First one is how much longer is your rivet in regards the the total material thickness and secondly could you have heated just the rivet up slightly to help it form and not bother the other pieces ? I am just starting to acquire tools to start blacksmithing, so I am trying to learn as much as I can.
