Worked in a community garden that had a few of these. Initially thought they were gimmicky, but really grew to like how generally functional the shape turned out to be. Yours is a thing of beauty. I love your capacity to bring the metal back from that awkward lobe shape imparted by the power hammer to a nice clean end without having to sheer it off. Much skill.
@BernardSandler22 күн бұрын
Oh, if you intend to use this, you will really want a belt sheath.

Yeah this is a beauty... but to any gardeners out there, a really simple cheap version does the trick as well! Love these tools.

This is my first time watching one of your videos. I particularly love how close you forge to the finished product, whereas other smiths often just forge a square billet and cut and grind to the final shape. Verry cool to see, and awesome end result too!

So delighted to see actual forging. When you hammered in the shoulders it was refreshing. To many people now think that grinding a piece of metal then heating and quenching it is forging.

It works really easily and I have done a few replica old style stuff like hinges, door knocks and a fancy hanger rail.

With age I concluded Irony was possibly one of the most crucial factors of life. This kind of metalwork has a ton of irony to it! Firstly it is without doubt the best medium to be creative with, the strength and longevity on its own being superior! However the amount of resources it would take to setup and forge these items really does have an ironic impact! Which( you are relatively free of.. lol
