I heard it the day before yesterday live played by Lawrence Archer (ex - U.F.O, Phyl Lynnot band, etc) who is playing now in a Whitesnake tribute band called “Snakebite” and I CAN ASSURE I fell in love with that pedal SINCE THE VERY FIRST MOMENT I HEARD THAT GUITAR. By the way, a PRS SE Csutom. No Core Model , no ultra expensive model. You know; simply and plainly “a great tool for working” It´s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G live. It sounds like The Guns of Navarone. By the way… Do you know if it is either analog, or digital. or maybe both of them????? BEST WMISHES AND KEEP ON !!!!!!!

Like the concept but sounds thin. Blackstar puts out decent stuff (my HT-20 MK1 tube amp was super versatile) but I think they’re into something with this box. Boosted low mids would probably give it some more roundness but the effects and overall concept is good. Your playing and review approach was great. Thanks for giving us a sample of what it can do.

Cool concept. Because my board runs drives on the right to time-based effects on the left, the layout here feels strange. Pairing this with MIDI seems like a must as a way to access presets etc.

Great idea, but I saw some videos that A/B'd it with other devices and in comparison, it sounded a little bit thin.

there is an eq on it and other video demos it sounds as full as heck he did not record this well cause it sounds way better than that

@spada60 Thank you so much for your opinion. If this was a rodeo, it would most certainly not be my first one. I recorded the unit straight in, others mostly recorded it with a cabinet and microphones. And I’m sure some processing went into it. Which is what anyone would do in a studio setting. I did not add “an eq” or anything to it.

I really want to like this unit !! Although for live use using only this unit it is essentially a one channel amp unless your willing to get down on the floor and manually change channels and re EQ !! If you could demonstrate how you save and recall presets via midi as you’ve mentioned in the comments it would be very helpful As no one else is covering this and it seems to be the main cause of concern for potential buyers .

I have an Amped 2. You can’t save effects presets.

@@QuickSticks8771 no problem. If anyone says it can, they are probably referring to that capability while you have it hooked up via USB. You can save and operate presets while connected to a computer, but most people aren’t going to use it that way.

I have the Black star Dept 10 dual drive. Sounds thin with single coils. I like the idea of the Amped 2 but calling it a compete rig is a bit far fetched in my opinion. I play in a covers band so how do I go from a clean funk tone to a distorted solo boost? Seems like you have to do a lot of tweaking during a show.

It's a multi-effects unit, but because it comes from Blackstar (and is also good), people are all over this. I prefer the Amp1 from BluGuitar just for the tone shaping it has but yeah, this unit is really nice. A Tech21 fly rig puffed up with a great amp. This truly IS the BEST time EVER to be a guitarist. People will look back at this as the 2nd Golden Age ..or something ..to describe how incredible it was. For Gear. For guitar, give me the 80's but that's another story :). I owned the Tech 21 Fly Rig, and it had a line level hum that I could never get rid of. The Amped 2 that I played had zero line level noise. Plus, the amp, boost and effects all sounded top-notch.

Kinda underwhelming imo. The milkman pedal/amp you demoed a couple months ago sounded way batter than this thing. It may be a situation where its trying to do too many things and none of them are great. I think the HX stomp hits that mark much more effectively than this.

You can do presets through midi, it sounds great, small business Tuesday will always be a priority on this channel, diversification is ok
