Blackstar Carry On (Not ST) Travel Guitar Review

I have the older version of this guitar, NOT THE ST Version.
The specs are different compared to the ST Version that just came out.

I've been battling trying to find out the difference between the ST model and the JB model, I see the ST selling for around 169 and the JB selling for around 300, can you please tell me differences, I want to buy this guitar today but I need to know the differences, the price difference is twice the cost for the JB. Help? New Subscriber.

Cheap option has bolt on neck. The expensive model is 1 piece I think.

I cant tell you all of the differences and visiting the website would be really helpful. As far as I know this one is set neck, has a custom pickup made by Gordon Smith (has a line of guitars/pickups) and Der Jung tuners. Maybe the wood too? Not sure.

The original Carry-on, reviewed here, is the more premium of the two. Blackstar later released the more affordable Carry-on ST version, cut back slightly in features and manufacturing to get the price down a little. The ST has a poplar body, a bolt on maple neck, a mini humbucker and a solid body colour (front and back) with a black scratch plate. The original is made from Okoume and is single piece construction for body and neck with a glued set neck. It has a mini humbucker which can also be coil split via its push/pull volume knob. It has a solid body colour in the front and retains its natural Okoume finish for most of its depth and back. It comes with tortoiseshell binding and a tortoiseshell scratch plate.

Split coil mini humbucker set kneck and better wood. ST is bolt kneck cheaper wood and doesnt have split coil mini hummbucker
