It looks fun. I bought a Steinberger Spirit Pro for travel. It works. Once you get used to getting the bridge balanced, it's OK.

Nice little guitar. I had one like that, but there was significant neck dive. Is there any neck dive on that one? Keep up the great work.

I have not yet tried it out with a strap. I did, however, spend my lunch break playing it in my truck. It was glorious, but I do need to do a setup on it and get rid of a few sharp fret ends.

with original strap has a lot of neck dive.... i replaced strap pins and installed dunlop straplocks and i use cotton/genuine leather strap made by boss (white/camel one) and the neckdive was reduced about 95% ...

"Algorithms happen." 'nuff said there, Grumpy Mike! I'm so glad you reviewed this - I'm sort of in the market for a travel guitar, but maybe not. When I have a checked bag, I've been taking the neck off of a squier strat. Fits fine and I just need to remember to bring a screw driver. Question for you - the strings sounded really stiff when you were playing. Did they feel stiff? Looks like they're using 12-54 to make up for the short scale.

Yes, I do believe the strings are 12s, and yes, they do feel quite stiff. I plan to change them very soon. I'm going to try a set of 10s because that's what I have on hand. Just gonna have to do some experimenting.

@@grumpymikeguitar I'd be curious to know how that turns out. I assume they'll wiggle around a bit more with such a short scale. Have fun with it!
@grumpymikeguitar8 ай бұрын
@MrMont-ue8kh yup, I have a feeling 11s will do the trick. Then again, maybe a hybrid set? I'm just gonna have to see how it goes.

Blackstar Carry On ($550CAD in Canada) has a coil split and looks like a conventional guitar. Competitor small guitar the Traveler Mod-X ($700CAD) has coil split, piezo pickup, headless neck, modular body. For the price and the simplicity the Blackstar seems like the better option. Do we get to see you jamming in your "office" since that's your sole use case?

Maybe I'll do a Short. Also, and for the record, the Stupid Deal Of The Day on this was only about $150. You just can't beat that.

Mike, You should do some lunch time from your truck videos using it 👍🍺😎

It's a good idea, but it would be difficult without identifying my employer which is something, for various reasons, I choose to keep private. Mainly, I can't risk having some internet troll nutjob calling and harassing the staff. But, who knows, I might be able to find a way. I'd love to do it.

Great video, and I smiled when you talked about MF's Stupid Deal, as it's how I got mine (as well as a second one for my son). I then smiled even more when you pulled out your Positive Grid 5w mini amp, as I have one of those too and I love the sound of the BS Carry on through it. Short 2 minute demo here if anyone wants to hear it in a high OD sound: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eamkaJ-doq9lnrM
