Is there enough headroom for this amp? At which volume does the amp starts to breakup? I heard that the blackstar 1 watt amp has less headroom and I'm considering either the 1 watt or 5 watt ht metal 😬

Currently running a roland cube 20w 1x12 combo, would this be worth getting and running into a blackstar 1x12 cab for metal, shred and hard rock. Not currently gigging, only for home use.

hey dude... I am really in beween this aml and the 5 watt metal version. what do you think of the lack of complete EQ part? You can still produce good tones, right?

The 5 watt with the full EQ would be beneficial for sure. But the 1 watt is a total plug in and play solution, you'll get a great tone. It all depends if you'll miss tinkering or not :)

What a terrier of a small amp, nails a genuine old school metal sound, and hey, what killer tune is that you are playing? And I do mean KILLER, I feel like I am 16 yrs old again and listening to a classic underground 80's metal album!

Yep! Just need to plug them in the Emulated Out/Headphones input on the front panel.

have you tried using the clean channel on max gain - it is such a satisfying discovery. unexpectedly tight sound, which would be useful for punk!

Thanks! Really, the HT-1 can get just a 'metal' sounding with an overdrive in front of it. But why not have both? haha :)

Lewis Keller yeah, if you're jamming at home it'll be great for sure. Although I think the 1x12 would have a bit more depth, it would really depend on the environment, guitar etc.

Lewis Keller no worries! I believe this was my Eclipse which had EMG 57/66 pickups in at the time.

There would be many factors that you'd need to consider to get that, but this would do the trick considering how versatile it is!

Best review I've seen for this amp and now i want one. You think I can get decent tone out of a Marshall 4x12 cab with the same Maxon pedal? I need an affordable tube amp.

+Oswaldo Gonzalez Wow, thanks so much! Yeah you shouldn't have any problems getting the same tone, I didn't do anything to make it any different. I'd recommend a smaller cab, but if a 4x12 is needed then you'll be all good!

The built in reverb is very nice! Was great on the gain channel, just wanted to show off the amps beefy rhythm tone!
