HUGE 200lb Roughtail Stingray | Catch N Cook

In this episode of BlacktipH, I go fishing in Nantucket for huge roughtail stingrays with my good friends Jason, Kelley, and Capt. Lee from Below Deck. The day started with us catching bluefish for bait. Once we caught enough bluefish, we started fishing for stingrays. I used my drone to find and deploy baits to catch these stingrays. It didn't take long for us to hook our first roughtail stingray. Our buddy Matt fought for 20-minutes before it was boat side. Kelley told us stingrays taste very good, so we decided to eat it. I was extremely doubtful about how this stingray would taste, but Kelly was convinced it would be tasty.

they are bottom feeders, so yes they only eat bivalves and crustaceans. but no predator ever said no to some meat just lying there. they can't catch live blue fish.

Catching stingrays is ky dream fish because I dont live close to the ocean but I've tried many years and I finally caught one! I had the opportunity to try some local stingray at a friends wedding dinner, it was incredible! Definitely smaller than this one, and I agree with the stringy texture but recommend to try it a bit more

This ray looks like a male Butterfly flat ray around 5 ft wide, 8-inches thick head, good catch, may be 120 lb. On the west coast piers we catch those heavy Bat rays (cowhead rays) up to 6 ft wide, 16-inch thick head. The largest on record was 180 lb. Ray and shark meat contain uric acid, if not cleaned properly, it turns to ammonia when heated.

Next time try cooking it in small steaks italian using butter olive oil white wine plenty of garlic a little bit of capper's let it cook on low hit heat till it's done serve on linguine and trust me it's going to be great

I had stingray in Singapore it was absolutely the best thing i ate there In fact if i go back it will be the first supper i have. They were much smaller though like 4-5 lbs 2lbs cleaned
