Even if "budget" foldables like these aren't actually very good yet, it's a great sign that foldable tech is getting so affordable

Yep, definitely a good thing overall!

I'm impressed that Blackview is going to give 3yrs of support for this device!

Definitely! Nice to see.

I actually like the small outer display, the other foldables with comically big ones completely negate the purpose of the clam shell, it's primarily for protection of the main screen and I would hate to baby the outer screen

i agree!! i also like the idea of closing the phone and having that finality and disconnect. the massive screens just seem like such a stress factor, especially knowing how easy it would be to break.

Can't wait for the long term review on this bad boy 😁 My Thinkphone is still doing great! The camera I've noticed is total garbage however. But other than that I'm happy

Same thing here I love the speed of my thinkphone but the camera is definitely garbage

I’m glad to see the tech is getting cheaper that processor in my opinion was a waste. It’s not gonna last the support TiMe I don’t know why they put that in there. If it were my money, I would buy the Z Flip 4 on eBay for 300.00 bucks in mint condition with a 1 year limited warranty since you’ll have to give cash for either since neither are in carriers.

why did you use the dispplay as a lamp?

Is a nice flippable, but most of the price is for the fact that it folds... Helio G99 on a device that costs *up to* $500?
@StevealiciousTech6 ай бұрын
Right, but you can say that for almost any fold right now. You're paying for the style or form factor, pretty much. The Flip 5 makes compromises on battery, RAM, etc, for $1,000 because you're paying in part for the folding.

@@StevealiciousTech At least Z Flip 5 is mostly matching what the S23+ is offering.
@StevealiciousTech6 ай бұрын
Right, and people whined about paying $1,000 even for that, so you're paying a premium for all the flips, regardless. Moto, Samsung, Vivo, it's part of the deal. And unfortunately, the cheaper you go, the more compromises will be made to get to a price point for a flip.

Hopefully they keep that promise, unlike Motorola, who talks a lot about it, but have so far not done their android 14 rollout for their razrs. That will hopefully get them to compete in the sense a smaller Chinese company is kicking their butt in a critical field. Speaking of which, my guess is Motorola releases new hardware then gets updates out like the Samsung of old used to do; but they figured out the faster, more effective way to do so

You forgot to mention the fact that the main screen is 60Hz. Also I believe this phone does not work with AT&T.

No, most all overseas phones don't work with AT&T.
@Bonerfyed6 ай бұрын
If it is unlocked and takes a sim card, and connects to the standard cellular frequency and what not that is used in the USA. It will then work with AT&T, I know this because I am an AT&T customer for many years now.

@@StevealiciousTech True! Those phones are blacklisted by us carriers. I've own multiple blackview devices. They work for a moment with prepaid plans. My work around is use the devices purely on wifi. Blackview makes some really awesome devices.
