Blade 180 QX Night flight 2nd attemp

Me flying my Blade 180 at night from Hillcrest middle School in Simpsonville, S.C at Sundown for the second time. Was much darker now. I must have gotten her up to near 300 to 400 feet high. It's hard to tell when the Quad is that small anyway. I do have the Eflite Leds green and red to guide me through the darkness.

I'm pretty amazed that you can still see the 180 at night, even WITH the lights. I can barely keep track of it when it gets high DURING THE DAY! Nice work.

Hello MrTommy001 Yeah! That baby was up there but I could still make out which way she was facing. The hard part was keeping the Blade 180 still cause the upper wind was trying to blow her away. There was not much wind on the ground level at that time. Also it was hard to find the sweet spot on the throttle where not to have the quad drop out of the sky, but to have just enough throttle to desend and still be stable. The best way i found to do that is to come down in large circles, to keep the craft moving forward at all times so you don't keep caught up in your own rotor wash.

Yes the light came from eflite. You need to purchase the controller and the green & red LED's. The controller plug attaches to where the camera cable is attached. you must unplug the camera if your going to use the lights instead. here are the part numbers from www.efliterc.com Universal Light kit Controller- ELFLA600 $8.99 Green LED kit EFLA604 $3.49 Red LED kit EFLA601 $ 3.49 NOTE: GET the solid LEDS, NOT the flashing type. Solid is way better in the dark. I bend the led part on a 45 degree. Then using some black electrical tape, tape led to the bottom of each leg. Green in the front, Red to the rear. Program radio so the you can turn the lights on or off by one of your toggle switches. Mount the controller to the top of the power plug. Attach with small amount of silicone and let dry. Route the led wires so that they are tucked away. Attach the canopy back and your set. Hope this helps :) Jim

How do u set up LEDs on it is there an upgrade or something u can buy for it
