Yes Jerry and it seemed to work very well, the Heli was a lot more stable in the hover after!! Thanks for your ongoing great support of my channel Jerry👍😄

A timely video mate. Last week I announced with much pomp and ceremony that I was finished with stability mode. Fast forward seven days and after three "high speed it got away from me" crashes I'm back in stability with my tail between my legs 😁👍 Miraculously I don't seem to have damaged it but it does seem to drift backwards in this mode. Having said that I'll wait for a calm day to see what it's really doing in the hover. Helicopters, it's one big adventure 👍😁🚁

Well, I finally did it. I picked up a heli yesterday. The same one actually. The blade 230s v2. I have to try this Trimflight mode. Mine is drifting alot as well. I thought it was me. Thanks Ian.

Philip before you do the trim flight do the calibration on the Heli, place a level on the tail boom once level re calibrate and then do the trim flight worked wonders👍😄

Question Pilot Ian: My previous 230S V2 RTF was extremely touchy in idle up mode, especially the ailerons. I'm thinking it might have been that the RTF DXe transmitter did not have Expo, either built in or able to be programmed, what do you think?
@IansRCExploits2 жыл бұрын
Yes that would help making it touchy but also in idle up mode the throttle and pitch curves would be more aggressive Mark 😀👍

Just got this helicopter the other day I'm so scared to do the maiden flight &&&,. Do u have to set the trim when it is brand new & where do u put the battery on for the center gravity??.great flight
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
Hello Kevin, it should!! Fly ok out of the box but make sure you've set your radio up correctly, the Centre of gravity depends on what size lipo your using!! I use 3s 1000mah and it does need to be placed forward as that Heli is notoriously tale heavy, obviously if you place the battery to far forward you won't be able to get the canopy on!! Good Luck it is a fab little Helicopter😄👍🚁

@@IansRCExploits I have to perform a trim flight my question is I know the trim buttons on the transmitter on the right side or for the eight alarms and the elevator but what are the other trim buttons for??.. actually could you help me if your helicopter is flying forward which trim button would you want to do??.
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
Kevo a trim flight is not done with the trim buttons!! It is a special process entered by moving the control sticks you then try to keep the Heli hovering on the spot for as long as possible!! The Gyro then remembers these settings, it explains how to do it in your manual. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6OokGiperGbjJY
@IansRCExploits3 жыл бұрын
If your flying mode2 the trims on the left are throttle and rudder and on the right aileron and elevator!! But these should all be central for the 230s you don't use these trims on Helie's with 6 axis Gyros.

im loving all the heli content, keep them coming :) Is it a Autum/winter thing? I tend to completely ignore my helis and 450 (10" props) Quad during the summer but get the bug for them again when the weather gets cold and then go back to fixed wing only when spring hits.

Great videos! Is that upper color of that canopy more of a red or an orange? Cause I wanna get it, but red wouldn't go that great with the orange parts. In your videos it looks amazing! Marius

Hey Ian Sorry to keep hijacking your videos. I've been trying to do a calibration today and just can't get the receiver to flash indicating it's dropped into the mode. Motors are disconnected, in fm1, hold on. The servo monitor page shows 0 for the GER channel at Fm1 and drops to -150 when panic/bind is pressed. Trims 0 rates 100. When you get a minute can you see if these GER figures are the same. I'm sure they're right because I can enter trim flight mode no prob using the bind button. Sorry to be a pain, it's just frustrating why it will enter trim but not calibration Cheers Paul 👍🚁
@IansRCExploits4 жыл бұрын
To do a calibration you've got to go through forward programming to set up and then select calibration!! I didn't have to press my bind button or anything!! What transmitter are you using paul?
@IansRCExploits4 жыл бұрын
I understand now that your using your transmitter to get into the modes!! My settings are the same as you but I just selected calibrate from my forward program menu in my DX8, are you putting the throttle hold on and putting throttle lever down to the right and cyclic up to the right then pressing the panic button!! I think also if the Gyro doesn't sense level it won't activate, but because I can use my transmitter I didn't have to do that.
@IansRCExploits4 жыл бұрын
Oh wait there sorry Paul I didn't re calibrate my 230 I just did a trim flight I'm confusing it with my 330 which I did do a re calibration on using forward programming.

@@IansRCExploits Hi Ian thanks for the reply. I'm using a Spektrum DX9. I was following the instructions on p17 of the Blade 230 manual. I know Blade manuals are a bit crap but there's no mention of using forward programming. Have I missed something. Cheers
@paulswainson644 жыл бұрын
@@IansRCExploits sorry Ian I'm a bit behind your replies. No worries, yes I'm following all the steps on p17 but no luck. I just couldn't understand how yours had worked but if you haven't used that method no probs. It just drifts back a bit but I'll try a trim flight when the wind drops. Cheers

Hi Ian Could you do me a favour and measure how much your battery overhangs the front of the mainframe. My canopy is cracked so I decided to treat myself to one of the Micro Heli speed body kits sold by Midland. When I got the heli to get the CG right, even with weight my battery overhangs by 1 inch. Not a problem with the standard canopy but this speed canopy will come nowhere near. My fault for not realising canopies would be different. But if you have a similar overhang at least I can be fairly sure your style of MH canopy will fit and there's quite a few designs in that type. Sorry for the long post Cheers Paul Whenever is convenient, Thanks
@IansRCExploits4 жыл бұрын
My batteries hang over by 3/4 of an inch or in metric 20mm. You want to get a Carbon fiber tail boom it makes them a lot less tail heavy!! My MH canopy fits easy!! Hope this helps👍😄
@paulswainson644 жыл бұрын
@@IansRCExploits cheers for that. I'll have another look tomorrow. Tbh it wasn't my best idea because the bodywork on the boom can only make it more tail heavy. What batteries do you use. I'm on Overlander 900mh which are about 3 inch long. I'm not impressed with any of it really. It seems very close to the swash control rods and the canopy is a real fiddle to fit even without a battery. I fitted a carbon boom after demolishing the original one. All good fun 🚁👍😁
