Picked up one of these from Friendly Hobbies (Las Vegas, NV) a little over there weeks ago, as I was heading out of town after Scale Nationals. Granted, I haven't even had the time yet to take it out for it's first test flight...but, based on the several video reviews I've seen (so far), I know it's going to be good. Honestly, I'm not even sure what prompted me to buy it. I got into RC helis a little over a dozen years ago, and was starting to get fairly good...but, one seriously bad disaster, costing me a considerable amount of money to repair led me to selling the three helis (the largest of which was a 360) I had, and vowing to never do helis again. I decided it was best to "stick to the ground", which is how I ended up getting into bashers, off-road racers, crawlers, and, more recently, FE boats. Although I haven't flown mine...yet...I'm happy to be "rediscovering" RC helis.
@rcreviews98943 жыл бұрын
I can understand why you did that, anytime a considerable amount of money is lost and can be preventable in the future, we tend to go into wallet survival mode and that’s with anything not just helis, I’m also really into land Rc’s, one things for sure they are a lot easier and cheaper to repair then Rc helicopters, one thing I can say though, the hobby has come a long way in the past ten years, you will be surprised what these things can do! With safe technology, 6 axis stabilization, panic recovery and live telemetry on board, lemme tell ya it’s an exciting time to be part of the hobby, maybe deep down inside you bought that heli cause your not really ready to completely give it up yet, either way give it a try again, take your time, ease back into it, there’s nothing like that rush you get flying, you know what I mean, I’m sure you remember that feeling, the 230s smart is a awesome heli you won’t be disappointed 👍

If Low Rates and High Rates are defined as you describe then what does Expo do? I understand Expo controls the amount of Throw to your servos as opposed to High and Low Rates.
@rcreviews9894 Жыл бұрын
Expo controls how sensitive your sticks are on your radio, adjusting expo will effect how much thumb stick movement is required to perform an action, high and low rates are just as I described in this video and control how sensitive the heli itself is, not the sticks on your radio.

Do you think is possible to use a Rediomaster TX16S (including rates and fight modes) with this heli? . As that radio is so popular right now for drones and planes it would be a popular video the setup of the radio with this new blade.

Bro I have bought two of these in the past two days. Both have drifted hard to the left in now wind. Sent videos to horizon and they said to send the first one back to the for evaluation and repair. So I figured it was faulty and went and bought a second one and it’s doing the same thing. It drives so hard to the left at times I’m full right stick just to keep it still. No wind because the leaves on the trees around where I was in the grass wasn’t moving at all and I felt no wind. I now have two RTF 230s smarts and the extreme pull to the left makes them very hard to fly.

@@rcreviews9894 it maybe. How to I go about doing that? I have two of them now and both are pulling hard left. If I take my right hand off of the controller it just tilts to the left and goes left. Even if I push and hold the panic button it goes lift it does not center and level itself as advertised. I have the ready to fly version also.
@rcreviews98943 жыл бұрын
@@KnightsGarage well it all depends on how it’s pulling to the left, first I need to know if you are aware of how to trim out a helicopter, if you are new to Rc helis then this procedure is something you really need to learn and be aware of or none of your helis will ever fly right, get back to me with that info first and also try to let me know how it’s pulling to the left, you need to hover it on a calm day no wind, tail facing you and slowly let off the right stick to see how it is pulling left, is the nose turning left? That could mean you need to trim the rudder, or is the heli pulling left but the nose is still facing away from you and it’s just pulling to the left where by the heli is going side ways to the left, it is kinda hard to explain with out seeing what the heli is doing but I can make a video explaining what I mean if that will help get back to me and meanwhile read your instruction manual cause I’m sure it explains how to trim it out there, o one other thing have you crashed it at all cause if so, that’s a whole other procedure, let me know and fly safe 👍

So “low rates” make it have a softer and more forgiving feel whereas “high rates” are snappier and more aggressive… I assume low rates you could maybe fly 3D/stunts but it’d not be too easy due to not having much “snap/pop/responses” whereas the high rates would make 3D/stunt flying easier to pull off but you need to pay attention more as you can over correct… btw you fly it nicely and she is a beautiful helicopter! I may get one some day… I’ve flown only co-axial/double-bladed helicopters and quad copter drones as I wonder if this would be a great helicopter for one of my skill or should I first practice with a fixed pitch before graduating to a collective pitch
