I have a Chroma myself, fun drone. Customer Service and available parts at nearly any hobby store make this drone alittle more appealing then the Phantom. Spring 2016 going to get a Inspire or S900 for higher quality aerial photography.

Yall should get a few more chromadrones, and tape each of their transmitters to another chromadrone, but keep one transmitter for yourself. Then when you run, one drone would follow you, but since it had a transmitter taped to it, it would get followed by a different drone. You could make a whole chain of drones following each other following you

As you guys know Yuneec makes the ST10 transmitter for the Chroma. They are about to release the Wizard remote for the Yuneec Typhoon series of quads. It's small size and like weight would be ideal.

I just got a Parrot A.R. Drone 2.0 last week and when I compare it to this I was just speechless. it's crazy to see how advanced quadcopters can be, as long as you have the cash to spend. I would love to be able to afford drones like these... Someday, hopefully, I will someday

Flite Test gets offered a lot of products for reviews, but they don't usually accept those unless they are interested in them or viewers have asked for them. And they don't do such "advertisements" for free. In any episode that got sponsored or where they got something for free in the past they explicitely stated that. Those episodes are very few. In contrast to other popular KZbin channels, Flite Test does not rely on money earned from KZbin. They have a shop where they sell their own products. And that shop got so big, that they just had to move to a bigger place for production.

+Balu Well it's obviously not commonplace for FT because they don't do giveaways, which is kind of my point. You're missing my main point though. The reason their shop is so successful is due to their YT channel and subscribers clicking through to their site and buying their stuff after watching their videos. All I am suggesting, is that they do some user engagement and possibly do a few competitions. The fans would love it, it keeps us engaged and it's something they'd easily manage to do...not to mention it'd be a bit of fun. I'm not the only one who has said this, it's been mentioned in the past by other subscribers and I'm pretty sure the FT team themselves have hinted at possible giveaways before. Don't get yourself worked up about it though, it's just a suggestion.

looks like a smaller, whiter version of my Yuneec Typhoon 4k, which I really, really like. Yuneec is updating their firmware so it will also change altitude in Follow Me/Watch Me modes if the transmitter does. So going up an incline it will rise as much as you do.

"very few has this feature called follow me" This feature has been available in ArduCopter for nearly two years now? Though it follows your groundstation or phone instead of transmitter. Added bonus, a phone + telemetry module is way lighter then a bulky transmitter ;) Edit: haven't looked at it, but im fairly sure you can set it up on ArduPlane to. Would do for some excellent Planception.

+Jan Mostert I have experience with both and I would definitely recommend the chroma over the p3 line all day solely based on the customer service aspect. the camera quality on the p3 is better, but it was difficult to get a single motion shot where i wasnt seeing props or landing gear. the physical layout goes to the chroma. The lightbridge link vs the wifi 5.8 is a huge win for the p3 based on signal strength and stability if you do long distance flights, but it requires an extra cable and your own viewing screen where the st10 has a built in android system. Food for thought though, also look at the q500 from yuneec, the 4k model is the one I ended up going with due to size mostly. it handles wind and yuneec has excellent support. the other thing thats awesome is the q500 batteries are just an ec3 and 3s balance port that we have all come to know so you can use a little better charger than stock. I have some videos of the yuneec q500 4k if you'd like to see. The chroma and p3 are different animals and each have their strengths and weaknesses. not sure what else I can hit for questions but ill answer what I can

Well if it comes down to customer service in south africa horizon agents is pretty crappy anyway. So its equal I'd say. The p3 agents might even be a bit better. I've got a p3. Use my phone for screen. As you say the video link is freakin awesome reliable! Would just like to see a video with a straight comparison between the 2.

+Michael Starczewski There shoudn't be lag in the radio signal but there will be lag from the HD camera to the transmitter. It won't be transmitting 4K video. I had a quick look on the Horizon Hobby web site but they don't say what resolution the transmitted picture is. Most HD cameras have to convert the signal to an analogue format which can cause a delay. I've no idea how the DJI setup works I think that transmits 720p quality video. I wouldn't have thought lag would be an issue with this type of quad and also bare in mind its limited range. The manual says 400-600m which maybe optimistic. It also follows DJI in having I would guess an expensive dedicated battery. As usual with Flitetest these days a fun video but lacking in detail. I expect Horizon Hobby gave them this to promote , oops sorry, review.

Questions: 1-Once you arm the follow me mode at 16 feet away from you, what is the minimal distance and altitude does the drone need to be so the follow me or tracking mode works ? I.E. Once into the follow mode, can the drone be at altitude 15 feet and 15 feet away from transmitter and still follow mode work ? 2- If the speed is set to rabbit mode, will the drone respond more rapidly to change of course in follow me mode ? I am taking mine out for it''s maiden flight today. Very excited. I had a cheaper drone before this one that had gps but didn't have fpv. It malfunctioned after just 6 mins on it's first flight and crashed. Paypal got a refund for me and I decided on the chroma. I live in Michigan so flying days are at a premium right now.

hi, i have a question, I do photo and video editing for horseracing! I just purchased the Yuneec 4k and a wizard remote. I want to be able to attach this remote to a jockey and have the drone on "look a me" mode. these races are quarter mile straight runs, and the horse get up to 45 mph in . If i have this drone in front of the race and the horses catch up to the drone and pass it, how will the drone respond? Will it spin/Yaw in a 180 to keep the horse in the camera site?

+Eric Monroe Good to know, thanks. I have a P3P that I use for taking landscape photos and it's been treating me pretty well. Obviously not the same quality as my DSLRs, but the entire P3P is less than the cost of a decent camera body or lens. I'm really comfortable putting in up in the air and not worrying about keeping it airborne so I can focus on getting the shot I'm looking for. The portability of it is amazing too. I'll put that little guy in places I wouldn't dare risk an I1.

Man, I wonder how the RAW footage looks like. KZbin compressions makes it worst as seen here --> 4:04. In the upper left corner of the background, the Dji inspire is pixelating and teleporting.

flying this drone is easy. Safe mode is for beginners but if your experienced in flying some before i recommend the Angle mode.

If I was a quad manufacturer I would make it so that the controller has one joystick for all 4 channels. Push forward and back for forward and back flight, stick left and right for left and right flight, twist the stick clockwise and counterclockwise for yaw, and pull the stick up for throttle up and push down for throttle down. I think it would be very intuitive to use a one stick joystick like that.

Hi Danny. I’m a bit late to the Chroma Party but I picked up two of these machines a couple of weeks ago for a ridiculous low price. One was virtually new and boxed, with the CGO2+ and steady grip, and the other was just the quad, that had never flown. On opening the second quad I found it had the ST10 receiver installed so I purchased a new, but old stock, ST10+ radio for $70. I also found a brand new GoPro 3axis gimbal and steadygrip for around $50 from Yuneec Europe. I’m just waiting on a new MK58 transmitter for the GoPro and a CG03 4K camera (new for $200) to arrive sometime this week. They maybe considered old tech by some of the recent new offerings from DJI, Autel, Parrot, and such like, but like the older Phantoms there’s still a lot of mileage left in the birds.
