CGI used to enhance already good looking practical set design. As it should be.

Holy shit this is amazing work. Just like this movie, the VFX was a masterpiece. I honestly thought there were more practical effects involved in the movie, that's how good the CGI was. Seriously guys, amazing work. I know how hard the VFX industry is and how some VFX companies can get abused and I'm just one dude but I want to let you know how much I appreciate what you've all done. Your hard work paid off, this is truly incredible work!

People dont hate CGI, they just hate the overuse of it.
@bonk369
@bonk369 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think people hate when it's overused, I think they hate when the use of CGI is blatantly obvious. The sweet spot is when CGI blends seamlessly together with practical shots.
@yashwinning
@yashwinning 6 жыл бұрын
People don't hate the overuse of CGI lol, they hate bad CGI. It's a bit of a conundrum. You don't notice good CGI so you can't appreciate it, but since you can notice bad CGI you grow to hate it, but when done right you can't even notice it.

lexvj Vjxelj You do know this video is strictly showing the VFX of Rodeo right? They most likely didn't do all the VFX for the entire film. A lot of movies have multiple VFX companies work on the film. Either that or they just showed a few scenes from the movie that had CGI and left out the scenes where they used miniatures. If you watch actual BTS videos they use miniature sets

Wrong. Another example of a film that relies almost entirely on visual effects/storytelling, forgetting the importance of the screenplay itself. Pretentious garbage. The ambiguous writing of the original Blade Runner (which is what made it a masterpiece) is completely absent in this film.
@sonicboom20078
@sonicboom20078 6 жыл бұрын
Because of how the filmmakers manipulated the audience into thinking it's a dense film. It was artsy for the sake of being artsy. Behind the beautiful veil that the visual effects department was able to setup, there's actually little to no substance.
@sonicboom20078
@sonicboom20078 6 жыл бұрын
That's perfectly fine. If you enjoyed the film then you enjoyed it. I just find the writing to be the most important aspect of any film, and this film was severely lacking in that department, especially if you compare it to the original film. Honestly, Blade Runner shouldn't have gotten a sequel, and not having all of the questions answered for us was what made the original such a masterpiece in the first place. Then this new film came about and pretty much ruined the ambiguity.
