No matter how many years will pass, this movie will remain timeless. Rutger Hauer's unforgettable performance as Roy Batty will always be the embodiment of Blade Runner for me.
I wanted to do a little experiment with AVID, so Blade Runner was a great place to start editing with the new software. I've been the user of Adobe for almost 6 years, but now I've decided to challenge myself and start from scratch with Avid. Truly a remarkable editing software.

Blade Runner makes me sad sometimes. It's popular among sci fi and nerd circles sure but I feel like it should be more mainstream than it is. :(

Part of what makes it special is that mainstream audiences usually don't 'get it'. I was sad that the new one didn't do well because it was one of my favorite movies of the last 10 years, but I was happy they didn't try and make it more like Transformers to appease the general audience. These movies are slow, deliberate delvings into a fantastic and frightening world, but they don't really have happy endings, or easy to understand motives, or super action scenes so they get left behind. It's a bummer, but I'm still happy they didn't sell out their vision.
