One thing that I may have forgotten to say about the updated Extrusion: While I am disappointed by the changes, I am extremely happy to see Nabalis notice the grip issues and be willing to fix it so quickly with a revision, and I don't want that to get lost in the negativity.

I just added a Nabalis Lightning to my collection because I enjoyed your review on it. I found find it's pretty slippery compared to my Canyon and Teflon Vulp.. My question is, how does the grip on this trainer compare to the Lightning? thanks for all you do, love your reviews and I and trust your opinion 👍🏻 😊

I received an updated version as well and I can agree with it feeling like sand paper. I think nabalis can't find that happy medium when it comes to grip. It's either not enough or too much lol. Great video

I know I'm a little late to the party, with this video coming out over three months ago. But I recently got my own Nabalis Extrusion, because I figured it'd be a good balisong for me to learn some tricks on. I'm very new to the balisong hobby, and I wanted a trainer that I could reliably learn tricks on, and the Extrusion seemed like a good option. So I bought it, and I ended up absolutely loving it. I'm personally not that bothered by weird textures. In fact, I honestly really like the texture that it has. It feels rough for sure, but not in a way that my hands feel weird after flipping it for an extended period of time. It's grippy, very good to learn tricks on, and the silver finish looks awesome in any and all lighting conditions. I'm very happy with my purchase of it. That being said, I can see your point in it feeling like sand paper, and you wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of it. A lot of people are not a fan of textures like this, which is totally valid. I don't necessarily think you're out of touch for criticizing a product like this for the price that it costs, because $50 can still be a pretty penny to spend for some people, and you wanna make sure that when you're spending a good amount of money on something, that's it's gonna feel right in the hands, and when it has a weird texture, that makes it tough to recommend, whether it's cheap or not. Great video, Ethan!

Part of recommending something is having an appeal to most people that you end up recommending to, and especially when people can get the canyon for 5 dollars less, and you take into account the amount of people in the community who are sensitive to textures like that, it becomes hard to sell the Extrusions "mass appeal". Still a great bali though for the price!

@@BladeBias I totally get that. Textures like this feel very rough in some people's hands, which would make a balisong hard to recommend to most people, considering how many cannot stand rough textures like this. I don't really mind the texture, I'm personally a fan, but I also realize I'm very alone in that regard

After getting one of these I can confirm it feels like sandpaper or grip tape from a skate board on your hands. So many cool ideas just implemented a little poorly. Still excited for what they will come up with in the future

That's very interesting. Hopefully one day I'll find someone who has one just so I can feel it. Not even flip it.

How would you compare the texture to a squidtrainer?
@BladeBias7 ай бұрын
The squidtrainer has a defined texture that feels intentional, and is more rough. This feels unintentional and dirty more than a specific texture
@darkangel9997 ай бұрын
You like the canyon trainer more 😱 crazy. I have both and think the FLive flips so much better because it feels way less sluggish and more neutral to me. Also while I don’t dislike the blasted version and it seams to provide a little more gripe the smoothness of the acid washed one feels so much more comfortable on my hands.

How would you compare the new gripper finish with the sand-paper-like finish of the Glidr Pacific? I, personally, feel Glidr went too far with the Pacific and it sounds like Nabalis did also with this.
@BladeBias7 ай бұрын
The texture of the pacific is far less like sandpaper than this because it's defined and intentional. This texture feels like a fine grit sandpaper, it's dirty and does not have a clear definition or pattern

I’m still waiting on the new one to arrive. They sent me a package but the shipping staff sent to V1 on accident. I bought a squiddy AL at Blade Show and I have a lot of opinions. Waiting for the new Extrusion so I can really tell.

I think it’s because of how they make it, maybe because they use extrusion it’s not as good with the finish
@BladeBias7 ай бұрын
I doubt it, the finish is something done after it's cut, the extrusion process simply creates stock they use to cut
