These look really awesome! I think drybrushing the color shift paint was exactly the right move. You hit all the raised areas that catch the most light, without obscuring everything else or overdoing the effect and making them look covered in sequins. For the major characters maybe use multiple colors for the "stars"?

I love your painting style you approach it from a direction that not very many Warhammer painters do and it's fascinating and beautiful to see. ❤

WOW! these revenants look great, if you want smaller speckles for the stars you can take an old beat but brush, get some paint on it, and then use the air brush to spray air through the brush onto the models.
@melsminiloft Жыл бұрын
What a great idea! That would probably come out so much smoother too, I need to give that a try next unit I do.

These would be awesome minis for high-level D&D wraiths or something. As for the arms, I think you could've benefitted from doing a darker teal undercoat and then layering to lighter teal, use a darker magenta wash on the undersides of the arms as a shade color to give them some depth and it would match nicely with the color of the cloaks. But yeah, I think I know how I want to try and do my wraiths now.

It’s great to see the payoff from the experimentation. The expansion of your airbrush confidence is great to see because it’s an excellent and versatile tool. This video really reinforces the MVP status of test minis for any project as well. The portal idea and execution was the icing on top of a galactic spooky cake. Poster putty is definitely a cheap and easy way of temp mounting your mini on a base. Another way is to put a pin in a spot by drilling a small hole with a pin vise and putting a piece of paper clip into the hole. You can then stick it into a piece of cork and airbrush away. Well done, you should be very proud of your work.

It's so fun experimenting with ideas, it might be my favorite part of the whole hobby! I actually have a bunch of cork board hanging around somewhere, I think that might be the way to go. Thank you :)

Great idea :) models loog gerat for TTQ :) 1 small davice: make the bases totally different colors than your minis. Complementer colors are the best. That way you separate the mini from the base. Makes more sens for the eyes. Also it is a lot better if you make some texture on the base and not just leave it flat. And please pleas pleas, paint the rims black!

Im in the process of assembling my bladegheists as i watch this video. I got them as a proxy for bloodletters as i dont care for the models one bit. Going for a purple basecoat with a red zenithal rattlecan. i should probably add more skulls to their bases to accentuate the khorne vibe
@melsminiloft Жыл бұрын
That sounds like its going to look so striking, that kind of paint idea where you base coat in a deeper color then add another on top is what I had been wanting to experiment with next. Good luck!

The putty to hold down minis you’re referring to is simply poster tack.
@melsminiloft Жыл бұрын
Oh! Well that makes it much easier to get into trying out :)
@photonfartsqueeze6694 Жыл бұрын
@@melsminiloft I use it all the time. It never really goes bad even if you get paint on it. I’ve had the same tack for over a decade. Another option is throwing a magnet on the bottom of your base then take old spray can lids and rivet or tape a piece of sheet metal on them and you have a magnetic holder. Cool video. I enjoyed watching you figure out your scheme till you got it just right. I’ve been doing that myself with some models recently!
