One huge plus from watching this video. Seeing the mats the repairman was lying on during the repair turned out to be a great idea. I had been laying on concrete to work on my mower. I've got a video suggestion, if you don't mind! How do you go about finding the correct parts for each machine? I know you use part's tree. But I can never seem to get the right things ordered. So I spend all my time waiting for parts, just for them to be wrong! I'm not a small engine repair shop, or a mechanic at all! I'm learning, from your videos. But, yeah.. a video regarding how you know part numbers and what to order would be really helpful! Thank you T-Bone!
@RaleysSmallEngines Жыл бұрын
Thank you, that's a great question and a complicated one to answer. I have many sources for parts, yes I'm a licensed dealer. Many parts are easy to look up on parts tree using model number, date of manufacturer and serial number. When it comes to John Deere I go to green parts store for the number. AYP craftsman I use sears parts direct. There are way too many to list. I then use the OEM part number and go to Rotary Corp. or Stens and look it up there because I'm a dealer for them. I've been thinking on a video for your idea, great suggestion my friend, Thank you

Good job T-Bone. Hey something you might want to cover is on that mower leveling the deck I use to have to go out to customers homes and level those decks and when they saw how easy it was they were a little embarrassed because all I would do was lower the back of the deck down on a 2x4 then loosen the nuts on the deck hanger then it would honestly level its self then tighten the nuts back up raise the deck and remove the 2x4 and wallah you have a level deck. It was so simple that most of the time I never had to return to those customers homes to level a deck again they would do their own because it was so simple.

How much do you charge to do a job like that just curious or what is your hourly rate and where do you live? Jim
@RaleysSmallEngines Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. Our hourly rate is $91 per hour, we are in South Carolina and I have the lowest rates in town. Everyone else is over $100 per hour other than shade tree shops with no license. This job, I charged $35.85 for the cable plus 8% tax and Labor was $36.40 for a total of $75.12. Plus we did a service and blades on this machine. Of course that was addtional charges.
