It was clear producers picked this song because it better suited Jordan Sparks. This is a vocalists song and it was clearly written and picked specifically her to shine in and him not so much. He did his best and what he could do with that song. Quite unfair if you ask me.

i dont know why people are basing her winning just because she sang this song better. i am a HUGE blake fan. HUGE. but i do agree jordin sang this better..because it was practically custom written for her voice. and another couple slow songs that he sang VERY well were "imagine"..and "when the stars go blue"...he is completely versatile..and looking at all performances he should have won but its ok..he still got a ton of notoriety..at least the right person won this year!

Poor Blake. I really felt sorry for him. I've no idea how he got to the final (he didn't have a genius entrepreneurial brother like Kriss Allen) and he was wiped out by Jordin in that final.

Idk how I ended up here but he overachieved by even making it to top 2 in my opinion but I guess what he offered was well liked by the voters. Too bad those votes didn’t carry over to sales or streams after the show

1. He can sing slow songs. He can sing slow songs at least as well if not better than Jordin can sing fast songs. 2. The ballads usually give the female contestants an advantage. That's why every time we have a female go up against a male in the finale, the female wins. The only time a male beat out a female it was because they had different songs, and the male flat out refused to sing the same ballad that the girl sang.

To SierraNichole: Blake can sing slow songs - 'Somewhere Only We Know', 'She Will Be Loved', and 'Time Of The Season' all got rave reviews. The problem is, rather, that 'This Is My Now' is too sappy - only a singer like Jordin could pull it off. Jordin, on the other hand, is not a versatile singer at ALL. She struggled big time on songs that had any sort of edge or an upbeat tempo - 'Fighter', 'Livin On A Prayer', 'Works Hard For The Money' were easily her worst songs.

That's the thing people as a singer you have to be able to adapt to at least 2 different genres of music. For instance look at justin timberlake he used to do teen pop now he's on to more of a crossover of pop and r&b. A REAL singer can go out of their comfort zone and still be great.
