@COOP3RDRUMM3R13 жыл бұрын
@irwin3036able Personally as a drummer, I don't really believe in a "play it as written" kind of style for myself or any of the bands I play in. I prefer to improv many parts live, But many bands especially those as prestigious as DT spend weeks in the studio crafting parts for the song, and so they feel that for their art to be expressed the way they intended, the original parts have to be played. Its kind of lame, at the same time if you made a replica of a famous painting you cant change it.

My neighbor introduced me to BTBAM around 2010, played them for me when we were having a barbecue, dinking some beer, and hanging out. I'm a guitar player (primary instrument) and a drummer. Dustie and Paul play some really cool shit, but Blakes drumming takes it to a whole different level. The way Blake steers the music through different time signatures, constantly pushing and pulling in different directions is awesome. He's hands down one of the most creative metal drummers of the last 20 years.
