loved ur review as always. just one thing about suga (the rapper u said was trying to catch his breath), his unique sense of rapping often involves using and manipulating his breathing sounds to emphasize his raps. once u hear more of his work u'll see what i mean but it's def one of my favourite things about him. he often sounds out of breath and like he's straining his voice to make his verses sound more urgent, hardhitting and/or even desperate. i'd recommend his solo tracks "first love" and "daechwita" as examples of how he incorporates his inhalation and exhalation.
@steph06144 жыл бұрын
I thought I was the only one that thought that way!! Suga has my favorite voice in the rap line because of the way he sounds like he is constantly struggling to breathe. The way his words sound far back and cut off but also emphasized in different areas really excites something in my brain. Also, notice how I said favorite voice in the rap line rather than favorite rapper in the rap line. I love all of them!!

The best moment of “Dionysus “ is when Jin performs a chilling falsetto in the final section, which is capable of making more than one scream with emotion. His voice rises to the sky. Critics name him the vocalist of the nation. Jin ‘s bright tone shines by conveying the bittersweet emotions of the wrestling between holding on and letting go, the internal struggle described in the lyrics.

Right? I love the SNL performances. If you listen to their MR removed vids you'll know that they don't need the backing track to be as loud as it often is. Sometimes the track even makes them sound worse as everyone sings a little different when it's live, for example holding some notes longer or changing up the melody slightly. In some songs it's very clever use of the track and sometimes it's quite bad.

It's his style. His rapping is hard hitting and he uses the different colours of his voice, flow, breath etc to really highlight what he's saying. He's not struggling at all, they all have insane stamina. It's simply a style of rap to push the meaning and sound more. Suga is an agressive rapper. Rap is different to Vocals
@ancientmariner82803 жыл бұрын
Clearly you haven’t heard enough of Suga’s rapping to realize he does use breathing stylistically to emphasize the song’s intention. I recommend Intro: Nevermind, First Love, Daechwita, and The Last as his breathing is apparent and intentional in these songs. But if you have heard all of the above and just happen to be an unpleasant person overall, I would recommend Cypher pt. 4

Thank you for the great explanation about the care that goes into the backing track to support the performance. Too many people are triggered when someone says BTS doesn't sing 100% of the lyrics live - it's simply impossible with the amazing show they put on, and frankly unnecessary (except the stages specifically meant to let them breathe and show off the legendary vocals). I don't think it takes away from the performance, they are human. BTS and the bighit team have crafted an amazing spectacle I would be blessed to witness. (fu covid)

i already said this in another video, but i really really REALLY appreciate how you take the time to comment on how hard bts works for them to be able to produce such high-quality music and performances-not many reactors really put emphasis on that! it also makes it all the more satisfying for a professional to recognize and praise their hard work, musicality and artistry, because a lot of ignorant people call them "overrated" or say that people only like them for their looks just because of their immense popularity, which is definitely not the case. so i'm really glad i found your channel, and i hope to see you make more bts content! ❤ (ps i'd be really glad to see you react to their song "spring day" in the future!)
@lobaetoile84403 жыл бұрын
Everything you said is absolutely true, and I'm glad you explained all that because it shows you know what you're talking about and also how much work it is to put together this type of showmanship... There's an insane amount of work that goes into this by a crew of people, obviously, from fashion to choreography to camerawork but the performers and producers also have to take all of these details into consideration while writing the song and making the performance choices plus preparation training needed to execute it or pre-record it live (what type of mics are needed depending on the song, what jumps or movements require supporting backing track, facial expressions, use of the space, breathe support/endurance, precise timing, etc).

*Hello! Here is a little interpretation of Dyonisus but still I recommend you to check out a translation first* Firts keep in mind that Dionysus is a God often called Eleutherios, meaning 'the liberator,' because his wine (alcohol), music, and ecstatic dance *freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society* - Dyonisus also means *born twice* so it's known that BTS it's basing these Map of the Soul albums on the Jungian psychology, and that the "persona" represents the social mask that it shown to the people, this song represents the process of making music, the process of turning into their stage personas, like a *reincarnation* . The Korean word for art is yesul (예술) and the Korean word for alcohol is sul (술) that's why RM says "Art is alcohol too" so instead of telling us to drink alcohol, the lyrics are actually saying "Listen to my song" and " Get crazy about my music". And of course the creative part of making music is a time-consumin difficult process so that's why they mention "pain of the creation" and how they're always on the studio (parties) and when they're finally "drunk" in art, their personas appears and receives names such as “idol” or “artist”, but at the end it is ultimately their own perceptions of themselves that fuel what they do "What does it matter if I’m an idol or an artist?" This is also a clap back to their song "idol" (being an kpop idol has a negative connotation in SK, they're seen as puppets and even if BTS broke the mold of that concept, there's still a fight over the title they should receive ¿idols or artists?) So this song works as an acknowledgement of their personas as part of themselves and also shows their desire of not only making music that people love but also that can be helpful for them, like a method to achieve the *liberation* *Some wordplay and references* - In Korean the word for grapes (포도) is also a term for empty seats at concerts. They're "eating grapes" which references how they're doing sold outs in every stadium. Grapes are also a symbol of Dyonisus -The Dyonisus' Thyrsus, symbol of prosperity, fertility, hedonism, and pleasure/enjoyment in general, is compared to their mics - The "pain of creation" it's referencing for one side, the hard process of making music and also the story of how Dionysus was born - "Born as a Kpop Idol, reborn as an artist" this maybe represents how the perception that the media has over them has change once they've become famous (but as I mentioned before, there's still people that refuse call them artists) again the reincarnation thing it's bc Dyonisus means "born twice" - "The new record is a fight against oneself" because BTS just keep setting and breaking their own records - Hit the Gong and say "onghaeya” (옹헤야) is a Korean exclamation present in traditional folk music. Through the use of this phrase, BTS ensures that elements of South Korean culture remain ever prevalent in their music And also this God represents madness and theater so that explains the amazing live performances! (Please check out the MMA 2019 BTS DIONYSUS LIVE PERFORMANCE) Thanks for the video!

Your reactions are some if not THE best I've ever seen, because we not only are seeing your reaction as you also end up teaching us stuff (which the way you explain makes it not annoying at all and I love that 💜)

Definitely check out the “BTS high notes and falsettos” video. It’s the best way to get an idea of their live vocals.
