Coraline is the true sad story of a girl who suffered violence from her father, who unfortunately died. at the end of the song a castle with powerful walls is named which is actually the Verano cemetery in Rome. Coraline's lyrics are pure poetry like many of the lyrics of other Italian Maneskin songs and more. I am writing to you below the translation of the text in English, read it really changes the meaning of the song, thank you very much 😁👍 greetings from Italy 👍 Alessandro CORALINE Tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline Coraline, as beautiful as the sun A warrior with a zealous heart Hair like red roses Those copper wires are precious, my love, take them to me If you'll hear the bells singing You'll see Coraline weeping She takes the sorrow of others And she carries it inside of her Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline But she knows the truth Going on is not for everyone With the heart split in two halves It's cold already She's a child but she feels Some kind of weight and sooner or later she'll break People will say. "She is not worth anything" She can't even go out of a simple door But one day, one time, she will make it And I told Coraline that she can grow up To grab her stuff and then leave But she feels a monster keeping her in a cage Covering her path of mines And I told Coraline that she can grow up To grab her stuff and then leave But Coraline doesn't want to eat, no Yes, Coraline would like to disappear And Coraline weeps Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea but she is afraid of water And perhaps the sea is inside of her And each word is an axe A cut on her back Like a raft that sails In a swollen river And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her I'll be fire and cold A shelter during winter I'll be what you breathe I'll understand what's inside of you And I'll be water to drink The meaning of good I'll also be a soldier Or light at night And I ask nothing in return Just a smile Each of your smallest tears is an ocean on my face And I ask nothing in return Just some time I'll be a banner, a shield Or your sword of silver and And Coraline weeps Coraline is anxious Coraline wants the sea But she is afraid of water And perhaps the sea is inside of her And each word is an axe A cut on her back Like a raft that sails In a swollen river And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her And tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths Coraline, Coraline Coraline, as beautiful as the sun She lost the fruit of her womb She never knew love But a father who is nothing like a father They have told her that in the city there's a castle With walls so strong That if you go and live in there Nothing will be able to hit you Nothing will be able to hit you

Their documentary was filmed when they were recording their first album (Il ballo della vita) which was a big mix of pop, rock, etc, it's very different from Teatro d'Ira. Måneskin is just too good in every way. Everything you pointed out here obviously about their skills as musicians and the production side of it all, but so much more goes on top of that. They are also born to be on the stage, they all look natural and enjoy performing. Their lyrics are ingenious, understanding the songs creates new levels of emotions. They are real, not just a product made in a record company. They are nice to their fans, polite in interviews, and seem like a bunch of actually decent young people. They are brave and keep pushing boundaries in what they do, say and wear. They use their position to speak for minorities. I'm super happy to see Måneskin doing so well, as I honestly feel they deserve it all!

This album is so good, I was blown away when I first heard it too- they really are professional musicians in the truest sense. But then I found the translated lyrics and man it added so much more because the instruments really do serve as the atmosphere and energy of the drama in the lyrics- it really is a theatre, a full performance where every bit of the composition has meaning in relation to each other. I think you will really enjoy the documentary- and then after it you should check out their first album- Il Ballo Della Vita which is the one they are writing in the film, because you can hear how they got to this album, all the experiments and range of sounds they tried one as they mastered it all. I also really appreciate with this band that in the live performances they can go off the script a bit- they can improvise a bit or experiment even within their own songs because they know their stuff and can make a song you've heard multiple times always sound fresh or have an added little something extra to make you want to watch every new performance. I am so impressed with everything they do and how seriously they take it. One day you should check out their first X Factor audition, and realise they wrote their first album about a year later and the scale of how they grew in that time. I really love you reactions, they make me enjoy the music in new ways each time.

I agree with the lyrics adding yet another dimension to their music in their Italian songs especially. I also love Damianos pronunciation in italian. Thomas love for Led Zeppelin is also another factor in their music. I really liked this reaction clip. 😊

Thank you very much for your awaited reaction. It is nice to listen to the songs and get sensations from them sometimes corresponding to the meaning, other times totally distant as in the case of Coraline. The Maneskin lyrics for the Italian songs are very important! Their meaning is deep and poetic, here it gets serious. The jokes and games are more in English texts much lighter, carefree, sexy, so it is important to understand them and immerse yourself in the reflection that is given to you by the writing of a poet like Damiano! ;-)

Thank you, this was interesting. I'm always curious about analyses about what makes music I like the way it is, since for me music is mostly just emotions and a like/ not like thing. That being said, thanks to your demo sneak peek I gave a listen to your band in Spotify, loved it! I'll be checking out your EP for sure once it's there!

I must admit that not many other music analysts have been able to grasp the creative flair of these young boys capable of mixing with unusual skill in such young boys, genres, atmospheres and influences so different and often distant. Many stop to look (often envying them) only their success without fully understanding the reasons of.

Ehi Blake, thank you so much for your reaction, it's great for a change to watch a reaction from a person who is really involved with music production and not only oohhing and aahhing for the sake of the likes from us "silly" Italians :DDD And your comments are interesting for a "profane" non musician but avid listener like me. Teatro d'ira vol. 1 was recorded in"presa diretta", which I guess translate in english recorded live in studio in pure "old rock" tradition, and I know for a fact there aren't added guitars, the only instruments playing are Victoria's bass, Thomas guitar and Ethan's drums. As a style choice they wanted to keep a raw sound, in a time of overproduced music they preferred to go for less. I can't say I'm disappointed by such direction, I am a girl of the 60s and I love the raw sonorities of classic old rock and Maneskin with their 3 instruments and Damiano are able to own the stage with so full sound they don't need additions, but that's of course my opinion based on my taste. You mey want to check the links below for 3 of their US live performances that I bet you haven't seen.... Hi Blake ...I listened to this album hundreds times and I never get enough ...but listening it with your comments has been a great present cause there's nothing better in life that share pleasure with someone you appreciate or love... Thanks !!! Look for the lyrics in english of the italian pieces and you'll be amazed (shocked with Coraline )...lyrics are 50% of the beauty of each song. Believe me. ...and they are just 20-22 (venti 20 anni years as in the final lyrics : "you're 20, I'm writing to you now before it's too late and the doubt to be noone (d'essere nessuno) will hurt you, you'll be somebody only if you'll be different from the others....but you're only 20). Thanks and a hug from Rome.

"Sarai qualcuno se resterai diverso dagli altri" I'm not Italian... but this sentence... 🤔...: ❤❤❤ ( knowing what it means... it even sounds better in Italian )
@SeSubModena2 жыл бұрын
@@meike.v.d.627 A more precise translation is something like "You will be somebody only if you remain different from the others", and this makes sense because before this, he says: "Ti sto scrivendo adesso prima che sia troppo tardi", i.e. "I'm writing to you right now, before it will be too late". So the meaning is something like: in your twenties you are more idealistic and sincere, but from this age you can start also to corrupt yourself.

You should definitely react to the rest of their discography, especially their first album “Il Ballo de la Vita.” It’s a completely different sound from this, but you could see glimpses of what they would become eventually. I’d say it’s a more commercial record but there’s some absolute gems in it.
