Water Sprite is an incredibly handy plant to grow in your fish room as it has beautiful foliage, can be floated or planted and provides great safe haven for baby fish.

Great video.... For anyone wanting a fast fill up the tank with plants. This is the plant. I have some planted and a great deal floating. As with any floating plant, remember it can block the light to the rest of the tank. When floating it seems to grow very thick and enjoys being out of the water very well. I don't feed mine at all and it is deep green and thriving. But the tank I have it in, is an old heavily established tank with soil under the sand. So obviously it receives plenty of food already.

Really good spawning mop as a floating plant too. Nice fibrous roots also make a great place for fry to hide. Excellent mulch for your garden for all the excess that will invariably happen.

Theyre the best plant for beginners but once they get big and if they're floating in the water they trap dirt to their roots, meaning when they shake around during water changes you always have dirt falling to the bottom from them

I have been trying to keep this plant for months..i have 2 bunches of it in my six gallon betta cube. The water parameters are ideal with nitrates solidly 5-10ppm. i have the aqueon clip on plant light which has blue and white leds. I fertilize about once or twice a weak with seachem flourish without a co2 system. To my dismay, many of the leaves have become brown and can be picked off easily! any idea what could be going on???

I would say that your nitrates are actually too low. Do less waterchanges or dose more ferts go keep them closer to 20 ppm

Hornwort might be a better option as it is very similar but less prone to being eaten

It may be an easy plant but, for me, it is a nutrient magnet. I can't keep up with her needs so it keeps having dying pars and growing parts. Without ferts. (with active substrate) it behaves the same half and half.

really depends on the fish in particular and how curious or hungry they are.

Thats usually a sign of lack of light, it is reaching up to grab what it can
