We haven't the same level so far (haha), but I know exactly what you mean by not getting the 4D sound with a 'regular' library. It often blocks me while jamming... Getting back and forth between different blends of mics/room/hall.. I can't stand that 2D wall of non-sense either. Make sure to tell us one day if you felt any need to tweak those samples anyway (i'm not planning to buy for the moment but really interested in having your thoughts). Really cool to see you man btw. Take care.

What the heck! I just came from work, dead tired, its 3 am, but I cannot go to sleep without watching this! Because if Blakus is blowned away by a library, that means that's something really phenomenal !!! edit: I fell asleep,, I'm sorry. Btw I had a dream that i was in Blake's room and he was printing receipts to some companies for some music he wrote! Also he build a new computer that was as big as a comercial printer. It was an IBM with an external videocard that had 8 double stacked 120mm fans on both sides! Also he had 2 blue backpacks in a rattlesnake rattle form. And I thought "now I will learn some mixing tips from the master! :D" then I woke up.......... what a disappointment.......

I'm wondering have you tried Berlin Strings or other Orchestra Tools libraries to try to come close to that "Abbey Road" sound? If yes and you did not succeed in it, then what was the reason? From what was able to hear from public playthroughs Berlin String sound much less muddy than strings that were recorded in Air Studio.

Hi, do you load an instance of the plugin for each different track? How can your computer do it?
@jaketanner1093 жыл бұрын
Nice video. I'd like to ask an unreleased question: What screen capture do you use that allows the clean mic signal, then audio from the computer? Do you mute your speakers when you play back the audio?
@Blakus3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jake. I'm just using OBS for capture. I generally tend to run my speakers at a low level, and by combing the use of close proximity to the mic, and a gate in my RME Totalmix software, it's usually enough to prevent any annoying bleed from the speakers.
@jaketanner1093 жыл бұрын

Hello! I know that with so many microphones it gives some problems, it is okay for me to use only one microphone because it already seems very good to me; I have an i mac 27 processor 3.2 Ghz intel core I5, memory 32GB of ram at 1867 Mhz DDR3; I am used to working very well with kontakt but I know that these libraries are heavier anyway.. do you think that it could be usable with my computer?
@Blakus3 жыл бұрын
It's definitely ok to only use one mic position. The Mix 1 / Mix 2 positions are very well done and are great for saving on system resources too.

Was thinking of cinematic studio brass but now I’m considering getting this for that and percussions.. for strings was considering SSS or SCS, any advice on that?
@AlonsoJoaquinComposer6 ай бұрын
3 years too late but SCS is the better library, however it's chamber-sized and sounds weird without the outrigger mics, so you'll need to get the Pro version to get the most out of it. Still sort of janky because it's old Spitfire, I highly recommend getting Pacific Ensemble Strings and Vista 2 instead. Cheers!
