Blaming His Ex for Their Son’s Death

The plaintiff and defendant were married for almost 14 years. She says the defendant was abusive and an alcoholic, but a good father to their four children. They broke up when the ex-husband left her for another woman. One of their sons died after falling off a rock formation, and she’s suing her ex for that son’s funeral expenses. The defendant argues the plaintiff left him several times during their marriage. He argues the plaintiff failed to supervise their kids prior to their son’s death. He’s countersuing for breach of fiduciary duty.
