@ You are just jealous that your hair don't go well with braids and is boring. Braids are used by many cultures nd it's a fun way to switch up your hair. Aave (african american vocabulary) isn't bad english and if n african speaks English it's like if an Asian or European speak it (it has an accent of that country. This is a prime example of a mother understanding that her daughters are multicultural. As a mother she is embracing n introducing all sides of her family dynamic. She is giving and encouraging their growth and feeding/showing them all possibilities of who they are. Uh🤓 I hope I said this right. I got emotional watching them n typing. Good luck, cheering them on. FIGHTING!

@@sheilaorangd1967 as someone whose entire family is from Angola and as someone who also grew up there AND got my hair braided probably hundreds of times there, there is nothing wrong with this. There are many ways to box braids and box braids take a long time to do if you want them to last. In Angola I would have to sit for at least 6-7 hours and when I do it myself it takes at the very least 13 since I'm a beginner. Do they look traumatized to you? Hell, I was used to crying when I got my braids done, they're just having fun. Even in Angola we used a lot of braiding hair too because some people want LONG BRAIDS! *GASP* Shocker, right? There are styles that don't take long but since box braids are supposed to last for long they need to be done properly

Get them a satin bonnet to sleep in. Also to help the tightness, in a spray bottle combine leave-in-conditioner, peppermint oil and warm water. Spray a little over her scalp...this will help with tightness and prevent bumps. Keep their scalp moisturized while it's braided. The scalp tends to get drier. I hope this helps. They look beautiful!

It does depend on where you live and what you try to do but if you’re one of those people that just sit on their couch and complain we’ll then you have no say because you do absolutely nothing to help. I know so many mixed kids or black kids who have white parents from adoption and they have never had their hair done like this and it is so important for their culture, whether they decide to want to wear their natural hair or protective styles when they're older it's important for them to get to know both of their cultures, ahh I love it

Yk the mom is Asian right? White people aren’t really in the conversation. Also, my sister is mixed race (black and white) she has curls for days but they are fine and fragile. A style like this would have her hair breaking and her head on fire. Yes, it’s part of her culture but it’s not the only way she can embrace it. There are many other styles that dont include tight braids! Remember, black hair comes in all textures and some are suitable for these types of styles.

A few tips if you decide for them to get braids again.(just to help not to be rude or anything) 1. It’s best to wear the down the first few days until they loosen up to decrease tension and tension headaches. 2. While braids do protect curly hair they still need maintenance. I would recommend washing them every two weeks with clarifying shampoo and following up with a moisturizer. 3. With braids the scalp tends to get dry and that causes it to itch.( it’s really uncomfortable). So if this happens you can put oil on their scalp where the parts are in between the braids. I like using peppermint oil because it gives a refreshing tingly sensation to the scalp.
@pRINCESSnARUE
@pRINCESSnARUE 5 жыл бұрын
Does the scalp tend to itch because it’s more exposed to the air in which can make it dry? My niece was having problems with her braids. Would recommend to spray in between the braids or just used a cream like moisturizer?
@tiara6373
@tiara6373 5 жыл бұрын
pRINCESSnARUE yes, the scalp is dryer because it’s exposed. She should put oil on her scalp in between the braids and a moisturizer on the length of the braids so her hair doesn’t dry out while in the braids. Not moisturizing the length of the braids can lead to breakage. I recommend jojoba oil or tea tree oil.
@oonlg8959
@oonlg8959 5 жыл бұрын
Washing the braids can make them heavier, which can also lead to tension on the scalp. So I don't really recommand

It's definitely possible to do tumbling/cheer with braided hair! I used to do cheer and go to practice and competitions with my hair braided. You just need to find a hair tie that is super stretchy because the braids are thick when you try to put it in a ponytail. I would use the Goody hair ties. At first they are super tight, but they stretch after a bit of usage.

My favorite vlog you guys have ever done... love it! And if I were you I would use the satin bonnet on their head more-so than the net (with or without braids). It's a lot more protective and it'll really keep their hair from getting dry overnight which causes breakage. Anyway, I love love love that you did this for them, this literally like the most cutest protective style. Hope for them to be able to explore more unique styles with their hair. I recommend either skinnier braids or twist because it's much much more lighter on the hair.❤️❤️

the reason is because of the high level of racism that exists in Asian culture, because of this you will never really see say an Asian woman with a black man which is the unicorn of all relationships, they are brainwashed with pretty much every negative thought possible when it comes to dark skin, that's why they say the things that they do in their videos they are trying to let Asians know that their negativity towards dark skin is straight up idiotic & stupid, tho trying to get that message through to the general Asian community is unfortunately for the most part a hopeless cause, but you can think what you want about it hey, have a nice day :)
