It’s crazy that you said why would you play blas act in white and then immediately pointed out why it is great in white. “It doesn’t kill creatures with protection” yeah so YOU can play it in the color that gives protection, if you’re playing a deck that is running cards like mom and giver and the swords then blasphemous act has a ton of upside which is much more likely than your opponent’s who might not even be playing white getting value out of it. It is very rare for cards to be strictly better than others which you pointed out later, that it is all about synergy and circumstance. So it’s just confusing that you also spent like half the video saying all these other cards are better than blas act in boros? Like what was the point

The biggest thing Blasphemous Act offers imo is being 1 mana. If you are behind on board and cast Austere Command to fix this, and don't have excess mana to keep casting spells, you will likely be in a similar position when the turn comes back to you since every other player can spend their turn rebuilding. Meanwhile if you cast Blasphemous Act as your first spell, you have the ability to play out your commander or some other card that puts you back in the game. Similarly being 1 mana means you can use cards that dig for it when you need it. If you only want to spend one slot on a board wipe, being able to Tutor for it, or cast big draw spells like Wheel of Fortune becomes much more attractive when the answers you are digging for are cheap. This also lets your board wipe be more "Flexible" since you only need to spend one slot and the rest can be dedicated to tutors, cantrips etc that lets you find whatever you need. For those reasons I actually think this card deserves the high praise it gets. Fully agree on the synergy argument though. Most decks have options that tie into the decks themes better, either mechanically or flavorwise, than their generic equivalent. Also strictly speaking not every deck wants a board wipe. If you are playing mono red goblins you could just play another goblin. If your deck can't find your one copy of Chaos Warp when you want to remove a scary Thousand Year Storm, maybe just stick to player removal instead.

1 mana is a good rate for a sweeper lol. Plus white gives protection better than other colors so it’s usually assymetrical

Because blasphemous act allows you to immediately build up your own board (-again) because it costs so little to cast.

I'll put in my reasoning in my personal signature deck which is a very simple boros voltron deck. I have indestructible equipment and ways to give indestructible but I do not always have that capability. It's easier to get my big dude to 14/14 and casting Blasphemous Act makes it a logical include. "Destroy" is good but sometimes I don't want to blow up my big dude if they can survive a Blasphemous Act. White's boardwipe is usually quite destructive. Red's less efficient but more predictable boardwipes suits it nicely. Afterall, casting a Starfall for 5 at instant speed leaving just my big dude alive is better than casting Wrath of God. Austere Command is a pretty good example of a flexible White board wipe and arguably I think better than most White's boardwipes. Farewell is good but again, highly destructive in my opinion. I do use it in my deck but at best I only exile graveyards and enchantments, never creatures. Artifacts are handled by spells like Vandalblast which is far better than any white artifact wraths. Not to mention Blasphemous Act is 1 mana...I don't know about anyone else but in Boros where ramp is tough, that 1 mana is good value.

Or I can play a good card that functions well with nearly any red deck and gives Izzet or Rakdos decks another option that doesn’t cost twenty dollars (I’m not paying that for Damnation, and you KNOW how much Cyc rift costs) Generically good cards are generically good for a reason. They’re auto-includes because they provide something to a deck that’s hard to get (whether pricewise or colorwise). You play hour of reckoning in every white token deck because it’s a wipe that you can make cheap and leaves a good portion of your board alone. You put frantic search in every blue deck because it’s card selection that untaps your lands. You put the medallions in every mono color deck rather than another mana rock because they make everything cheaper Unless your deck is already just doing the thing the generically good card does (e.g. Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot, where everything is a blas act), there’s no reason not to include the card (other than perhaps budget, which is part of why I included no board wipes in my Prossh deck) and several reasons to just do it

As someone esle mentioned, the real reason act and vanquish are so good and played so much is just the mana aspect. Austere commande might hit more things, but is also a lot more expensive and you can't rebuild as quickly as with the others, maybe you should run both, or a few more targeted hits all solutions like stroke of midnight or smt.

I run both horde and act in my mr house deck. I also understand that my playgroup doesn’t run cedh decks and while sometimes we have big creatures we usually have lots of tokens and both help me live to do my combos

its more avbout what boardwipe is lying around at home then what would slot in the best im not going to buy one if i have a boardwipe at home maybe for my absolut pet deck but most decks are going to be changed all few month
