Just paid a small fortune for a grade 2 with Satin Nickel engraved receiver. Hard to find nowadays. Work of art and great workmanship. Very accurate. Love it. Almost as cool as my ancient Remington Model 12 pump!

Great video. I've had one of these (without the checkering) for about 25 years and I love it. I wanted to point out that another innovation that Browning made on this gun is the fact that the trigger group travels with the lever so you can keep your finger at the ready for faster shooting. All other lever guns that I'm aware of leave the trigger behind with the receiver and you must reacquire it after you cycle the lever. I noticed that you chose to shoot the gun that way, perhaps out of habit and muscle memory from shooting other lever guns, but you can shoot faster by leaving the finger in the trigger guard. I'd like to learn whether that feature is why the throw can be so short or if the throw being short allowed them to take the trigger group with the lever. Whichever way, it makes for a fast shooting little rifle. Also the gun can be "speedloaded" from prefilled plastic tubes by taking the brass tube all the way out of the gun and dumping the rounds straight down the tube without using the bullet shaped loading notch. Not sure how much 100 pounds is in US dollars, but it sounds like you got a real deal. The lesser grade guns are like $600 in the US. Mine was less but I bought it used 25 years ago, but it was like new when I got it.

I've never shot a lever action, looks like loads of fun.

I love mine, it’s a fantastic rifle for noobs to shoot too. I take this, an MP5 semi and Ruger Precision for guests to shoot and it gives them a great taster day. This and the MP5 are normally their favourite.

I have a identical Miroku branded version of the same gun, model ML-22. It's my favourite firearm in my collection. Compact and accurate. Just need to work out how to put a sling on it.

Beautifully smooth lever action in .22,..and bear in m9ind, these rifles will shoot all .22 cal. cartridges,.i.e. short, long and long rifle. My Browning is a Grade 1,..no engraving, but excellent bluing and receiver is finished as smooth as glass. This rifle today here in Canada in pounds sterling would be about 445

Hello Reg, I own one but what means grade 1, or grade 2 ?? And how to know which grade is mine ? Thanks !
@regsparkes65073 жыл бұрын
@@youtubecensorship646 From what I have learned Les, the difference is that the GRADE 2 model may have 'better' wood in the stock and also there is some engraving on the receiver. Then the GRADE 1 model doesn't have this engraving and may have slightly less quality, wood, if we can tell the difference at all. They both shoot and operate just as wonderfully as the other.

@@regsparkes6507 Ok, with these explanations now I know that mine's a grade 1, which is fine to me. Thank you kindly for your answer.

A lovely little gun, far cheaper than they should be in the UK. Is it better than a Marlin 39a though? These old .22 repeaters are fantastic. Same as the browning trombone and winchester equivalent.

Peter thanks once again for an excellent review. I too own the same rifle as you do. I was just wondering if you know if the trigger on the BL-22 can be lightened (by a gun smith, etc). I've been told that it's not possible but I would like your take on this? I love my BL-22 for all the reasons that you have stated. My one only gripe is the near 8lb trigger pull. Thanks for sharing!
