Blast proof door electric operation emergency opening

Emergency opening s of a Panzer blast proof door from series BT3. These series are tested the German defence laboratories WTD52.

What do the two long metal tubes do? How do they work? What was he doing to them before he put them into the door? Do you need them to always open the door?

studinthemaking the "lock" is inside the door. Think of it like your front door is behind a foot of concrete, with a hole drilled so you can reach the deadbolt. You wouldn't be able to reach it with a normal key, so an extension is used so the key can reach the locking mechanism. Those tubes are just really long keys. This door seems to use a keypad in normal operation, but I could be wrong. I believe the dual custody keys would be used in the event of a blast disabling the electronic lock on the exterior of the door. Since the mechanical locks are so deep inside the door, they would remain functional in such a condition.
