Blastoise is my favorite deck to play. I use regular mewtwo’s for meat shields and they have a manageable retreat cost with decent HP, often surviving 2-3 attacks in the early game. I usually brick with misty, too, but it’s actually more consistent than you might think. Admittedly they tend to be longer games, but it’s still my favorite to sweep end game.

I think your opponent could netdecked that wigglytuff deck, and didn't realise people play jiggly puff for sleep. it would be unfortunate if they never picked that card up, as it really makes wigglytuff better. I missed Lapras ex because I started late, and that was devastating. I used to use Lapras a lot in the mainline games, so would have been really cool to make some deck with it. I hope we get another shot at the ones I've missed, that have newer, and often better attacks.

I use 1 x basic Zapdos in my Pikachu ex/Zapdos ex/Raichu deck. I like it because it's 100 health, and 1 retreat. Means it is good as a bench warmer, and also to use in the front row when needed. I never charge it up, although it can be used in a pinch as a finisher. I actually like it more than the urchin most people use copy of, that can paralyze, just as a tankier time waster. I need to try out the urchin card and see what it's like, but people are likely switching that to Dedene when the new set comes out, I would think.

I also think the new Vaporeon might add a bit more reliability to Blastoise decks, as will have 2 forms of Ramp. I am not sure if Blastoise is strong enough to make that a meta contender, however. I have the Card, but not used it yet. I know the Starmie/Articuno decks is fairly good, but Pikachu being the top dog kind of outs it in a worse situation. If Pika wasn't there, Starmie might be top tier.

I honestly just concede if they get even 1 energy with Misty tbh. It's extremely difficult to come back from a 1 energy deficit just because you lost the coin toss and went first, let alone a 2 (or worse) energy deficit via Misty. I honestly wish they would just ban the card outright.
