Siobhán was part of the Sugababes when they formed, but only very briefly; Heidi was involved in the big hits after Overload. What counts more? And Siobhán sings far below Heidi's level. She definitely can't hold a candle to her live. She has turned her back on the Sugababes and now wants to be one again. But Heidi's voice is missing and Siobhán can't replace it. For me, she is the replacement, not Heidi.

I'm French and to be honest, I had always thought the band started out with Heidi being part of the original trio. Sugababes became known in France with their hit "Too Lost in You" released in 2003, it was played over and over on the radio and I honestly thought this was the band's debut. I didn't know Heidi was added as a substitute, I'm just finding out with that video. Amazing ! lol

I actually am quite interested in the legal side of things. I assume they sold the name to the record company, who kept the name but 'hired' new people to perform under the name. But is their songbook also owned under the name Sugababes, or are these masters owned by someone else? Anyone an idea how this works?

Their former management Crown owned the name from 2009 until 2019, when the name was awarded to Keisha, who now owns it. They were not allowed to use it, because their former manager blocked them using it and also tried to block them even singing 2.0 songs. Now Keisha owns the copyright, they can use it and do whatever they like with it.

I am so tired of the people going to EVERY FUCKING VIDEO of Sugababes whining how they miss Heidi and it's not the Sugababes without her. I mean... There are song which I think Heidi sounds better on than Siobhan. And yes... The most succesful years have been with Heidi. So many of my favourite Sugababes tunes are from that time. But still... Without Siobhan there wouldn't even been a place for Heidi to step in.... Siobhan is so fucking talented and a better singer than Heidi with a better voice. Her input to the music was and will be so good! And there is no bad blood between any of them and Heidi, and I am pretty certain Heidi doesn't even want to be involved in all this anymore. So why don't you just try to enjoy what these 3 come up with in the future? If you can't cope with the absence of Heidi, then I kindly ask you to just move along and watch old performances and interviews with Heidi. Thank you.

@Lunar tears nope, she is not. It might be your preference, but actually the only thing that Heidi is "better" than Siobhan is her look, and that's highly up to personal taste. Siobhan is superior when it comes to voice and live singing abilities, she is also better in terms of impact on the songwriting. (I still like Heidi and I appreciate her input to the band, but otherwise, just no. This is exactly the stupid shit I am talking about)

@@kyrotv8156 True. It was also "more radio friendly" songs. Had they debuted with _Freak Like Me_ or _Round Round_ with Siobhan there they would have been extremely successful since the beginning. The 2nd line-up is my favourite (love how they blended so well) but a fact is a fact. It was the new music direction and new label that made them bigger and, quite frankly, the member that made the difference was Mutya, then Keisha. When Mutya left the magic was broken. It all went down hill since _About You Now_ . They eventually got rid of Keisha so the final line-up (with Heidi in it) was a hopeless huge flop. It's not Sugababes without Mutya and Keisha 🙌.
