@@ForgottenTupperware 10 hours is a very short drive considering many phans drive MUCH farther time and time again to see Phish. I only say this because you absolutely MUST make it to at least one show if you can. Watching a video is nothing at all like being there, it's a totally unique experience that can't be explained. Do yourself a favor and make it a priority to get to a show, seriously, or even better a full multi night run somewhere.

Hello Phish People, You are witnessing history: This is my very first exposure to Phish. I've always heard about them as one of those bands with mad-fanatic followings (like the Dead), but I've never exposed myself to them. I'm 54 now, and a professional musician in LA, so I totally appreciate how good they are as musicians, with great tight vocals and good tone on the guitar (and that's a bitchin lightshow!) - so it must be strange to yous that I've never come across them from some fanatic like yourself wandering the musical starways out here... The first part of that long jam is a nice catchy song as well, and I do appreciate writers with lots of lyrics that say something... So tell me, Phish People, what would you recommend to a newbie listener; someone who will just float around KZbin and grab a few of your suggestions to gain more of an understanding of what is so compelling about your favorite band. Let me know what would be great indications of their most popular works or where I should "start" if I want to listen to them grow from one point to another. I'm sure some of you have boundless knowledge on your favorite fanatic band, but I just want a few suggestions or links, not a history lesson. Hey, thanks for being insane lovers of music.
