Just got my 1st svs sub. Wow they go DEEEP. I had a 10" velodyne sub for 20 years and it seemed fine. Its amazing how much subwoofers have improved. The tactile response and frequency range is mindblowing comparatively. I got the bottom of the line pb1000 pro so i can only imagine how that 4000 sounds.

Loving all of the subwoofer reviews, for being average guy and saving money have you thought about doing DIY items? I was looking at buying a lot of the reviewed items here but I decided to build one myself with an 18" woofer in a sealed box, overall costed about $450 for materials and everything and I love this (massive) little thing. It definitely excels more in the home theater department, it works well for music but I don't consider it to be the strong suit for it. The 2 main components were the Dayton DCS450 paired with the Jung sd300. The box is double front baffled, 18.5 x 18.5 x 21.5 outside dimensions not the most optimized build ever but as mentioned before, it's been great.

I ordered mine last week Saturday, 05-29-21, two days before Memorial Day and it will be here today, 06-03-21. I ordered right from SVS and I got the plain finish because I don’t like how easy the glossy attracts fingerprints. I got a smoking deal at the outlet for 1099.00, $1154.00 with tax and I talked to someone by phone after the order and their customer service seems like it will be first rate. I was told to constantly check the outlet because products move quickly. I love their upgrade program, prices when you add two subs and their 5 year warranty. I’m coming from Rels, T3, T5i, R328 and T7i so it shall be interesting and my purpose isn’t home theater it will be two channel only. I like the tune ability with this sb4000 and I already downloaded the app. My intended speaker will probably be Magnepan 1.7i, I’m currently using Kefq350 and I might try a pair of Kef Ls50 metas. Absolutely no one on KZbin or in any reviews or forums could answer my questions of speed and performance with a flat panel speaker like Magnepans, which are extremely quick. I know how Rels perform because I have had Magnepan 1.6QR in the past and used them with Rels. Rels are seamless to integrate and sound great, but lack the output that I crave unless I put up a ton more in cash and in the end, I just may have to do this, but for now I have never owned an SVS sub or speakers and I welcome the experience and the tweak ability. I got rid of my last set of highend speakers because I don’t want any speaker with a built in amp, because they won’t do what a separate sub and speakers will. Rels go up in price drastically from $2500 to $7500 for the top in Rel S25, which is insane, but it’s a Rel. I wanted balanced inputs to work with my preamp. All components that will be used will be Audio Research, VPI and Aurender. I’m looking forward to the experience and I enjoy your reviews, simple and to the point.

Thinking about purchasing this sub, is on sale. You don’t give enough credit for the app, nor for the connectivity options of having balanced and unbalance inputs and outputs. I have a tube amp that does not have an LFE connection. I currently have a A Definitive Technology 15” that I purchased new 20 years ago. It was a high end item at the time and does a good job. But, I need that adjustability from the couch and if it slams me large on the HT stuff I’ll be thrilled.

hello , have You pulled the trigger? I purchased a SVS SB-3000 couple of weeks ago to go with my new Sennheiser Ambeo Max soundbar ( which is a beast as well at almost 55 lb’s ) for my small - medium 10x13 bedroom. It is a powerful sub that is much better then my 500W 10 year old Bower&Willkins , yet i’m still wishing for a little bit more of a chest bump so i exchanged it for SB-4000 and its arriving today, can’t wait to set it up calibrate it and see what happens lol , by the way my basement set up with Definitive Technology towers , center and surrounds are sweet too , good luck with whatever Yiu decide to go with 👍

@ I did not. I am looking into the measurement program WEP and I want to confirm I am getting everything out of it that I can. I have 20’ ceilings and I may need more than 1 to cover. I have seen some of the SVS subs come with defective speakers where the voicecoil rubs the magnet and must be replaced. Some complain about lack of thump as well. Let me know how that works out for you, would be greatly appreciated.

Dustin, I scored a 7 speaker (w/ 2 towers) klipsch system with a Sony receiver for 1k even. Bought it from Offerup. Granted it’s last gen Klipsch. I’d like to utilize my towers but I hear most audio will come from the center channel. I haven’t set up the system yet FYI.
@blazermdx3 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on the new speakers! Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, especially since the set came with 7 speakers and a receiver! What models? Most of the dialogue for movies and video games will come through the center speaker but that doesn’t mean you won’t be utilizing the towers. With proper crossovers, you can have the towers carry the low end, if you aren’t using a sub, which will allow the center to do what it does best, provide clear and detailed voices. Again, congrats! Everyone loves new speaker day!

SVS has definitely crept up in price, but I definitely think that was intentional, so they can sell to brick and mortar stores like BB. What were your thoughts on the sb4000 vs 16 ultra? Don't think I heard you say in the video
@blazermdx3 жыл бұрын
They are VERY similar. The SB16 Ultra is more powerful and will have more output but I bet it’s closer than most would think. Unfortunately, with the size of my room, neither of these awesome subs were sweating through anything I tested them with. I don’t think I’d ever be able to tell a big difference between the two, in a blind test. If you have a larger room, I would probably go with the SB16, as I don’t like leaving anything to question, when it comes to subs. With that said, at the price of the 16, I’d probably grab the sealed 18” Rythmik. Too many great subwoofer options!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any personal experience with either model so I can’t tell you for sure. Would you recommend going with 2 sb 3000 then 1 sb 4000?
@randysalsman69922 ай бұрын
Dual subs over any single sub always. Never better going with a single over duals, no matter what size sub you're talking about. The only time you ever go single sub is when you know for a fact that you're gonna get a second one to go duals in the near future. I also did this, first I had dual PB-2000's that I bought at the same time, but I upgraded to the PB-3000. I bought my first PB-3000, gave my 2000's away and was stuck with the single PB-3000 for about 2-3 months until I had the money saved up to get my second 3000. It was not fun going from dual PB-2000's to a single PB-3000, it was the worse 2 and a half months of my life waiting on the second one. lol After getting the second one and having dual PB-3000's was a nice noticable upgrade from the 2000's. I was gonna save up for the PB16 Ultra, but I got to impatiant when I though about the cost of just 1 was the same as as both of the 3000's, so I was impatiant but was also afraid that after getting 1 PB16 Ultra something might pop up and I'd be stuck with just a single sub. The though of getting stuck with a single sub alone was enough to make me change my mind and only go with the PB-3000's. At least I heard that the sound singnature of the 3000 was like that of the 16 ultra, just not as powerful, and I knew I'd never even use all of what the PB-3000's offer, so not being as powerful as the 16 ultras was not a problem, I just really wanted the PB16 Ultras for there looks.

To be totally honest with you, I actually preferred the DD12 in my room. The SB4000 is a fantastic sub with possibly a little more depth but the DD12 blended just beautifully with my system. I would like to ask you if by inserting one of these two models I can improve the bass sound more or given the high costs of the models described above, I only keep the soundbar? we are talking about € 2399 and € 2899. for this reason I ask you if by adding 1 subw I really gain from listening to both music and movies. Thanks for your answers
@blazermdx3 жыл бұрын
That’s a nice soundbar, congrats! If you use the soundbar for movies and you have the room, I would definitely go with the PB4000. I like sealed subs but that’s mostly due to the smaller cabinets. If you have the room, the PB4000 will have more output. And yes, adding a high quality sub to that awesome soundbar, will definitely improve the experience. Just make sure you spend time in choosing the best placement for the sub and dialing in the proper sub settings.
