[Tidbits & Clarifications] - The name Shiba has been thrown about and here we learn that clearly they must be of some regard considering someone as strict and principled as Byakuya considered not fighting a Shiba at full strength as disrespectful. That mixed with Yoruichi being good friends with Kukaku Shiba adds to the idea that something about that clan is special. - You asked in reference to Yoruichi "Do you not age?" don't forget that Shinigami age dramatically slower than humans - Renji's Zanpaktou Spirit is Based on the mythological creature known as Nue. An important thing that many people miss is that most zanpaktou Naming wise are based on animals, creatures, beasts or things. This makes Ichigo's Zanpaktou spirit seem a bit odd or special. - The moment when Byakkuya almost got Yoruichi wouldn't prove that Ichigo was faster, Byakuya wasn't attacking Ichigo with his full speed at all, that's because he doesn't consider him worthy. Plus She's out-speeding him with a full human on her shoulders and he's actually trying to get her. - Ichigo has "Constant Release" because as you said he has way too much spiritual energy and he's not good at controlling it (It's never flat out explained, Kubo likes for the viewers to put it together ourselves). This is neither a negative or a positive, rather it shows that he's an anamoly while also showing the gap between him and the stronger Shinigami. He fights them with the 2nd form of a zanpaktou, whereas Byakuya was using his blades sealed form. - Yes, that scene is confirmation that Rukia is a 13th division member.

To answer a few questions. Renji's "sword spirit" is not a chimera, it's actually a Nue, a japanese mythological creature with the face of a monkey, the body of a tanuki(racoon-dog), the paws of a tiger and the tail of a snake. Nue were supposed to have the power to cause disease, affect the weather and they could fly on dark clouds and possibly cause lightning. It is sadly one of the *very few* sword spirits we actually see the true physical form of, a lot of them are supposed to be really cool. A lot of sword spirits are supposed to be based off of mythological creatures or animals. There isn't anything really special about people who have constant release zanpakuto. Some people have them, some people don't. There's theories about it having to do with having too much reiatsu to properly control, but it's not really confirmed. There *are* special zanpakuto out there but they're very rare. There's some hints about something to do with shiba clan and the captains thinking that ichigo looks suspiciously similar to someone they know - they come back to this later, and there's also some vague namedropping about Yoruichi formerly being a major player in soul society, effectively being a super-ninja.

Remember during ichigo's first confrontation with Byakuya and Renji, Byakuya said he looked like someone. But in this episode he said, "no he is not related to the man you are thinking of." to the other captain. There are so many questions to keep track of at this point xD

Zangetsu is a constant release because Ichigo is freakishly strong, but has little control over his powers. Most Captains and other Soul Reapers gain their Shikai and later Bankai through years of building their power up, as well as proper control as they're developing their powers. Ichigo, on the other hand, is inherently really powerful, but doesn't have much control. The reason why being a massive spoiler, so I won't go into detail on it.

I'm sure you know now probably but the very basics of what Yoruichi is is that she's essentially a captain just like Byakuya and Kenpachi, just one that excels in stealth and stuff, which is probably why she's so fast. Yeah Ukitake there is Rukia's captain, captain of Squad 13. So he probably feels a bit torn on this whole situation I'd guess.

A normal zanpokutou should have 3 forms: Sealed, Shikai, and Bankai. Why doesn't Ichigo's have a sealed form? Unclear. Could be as simple as him never asking how to seal it and neither Zangetsu nor Urahara bothered to tell him. Most people just seem to find it curious instead of shocking so it's probably not terribly important.

The releases of swords is a bit more complicated than its been explained but generally it goes Sealed then Shikai then Bankai. There are also partial releases that take place in some cases but its pretty rare. It should also be noted that while Bankai is powerful its actually relative. Some characters Shikai are stronger than other characters fully mastered Bankai. This is true because both Soul Reapers and their Zanpakuto have relative strength that does not evenly match up with everyone else. So this means that someone with a Bankai doesn't necessarily auto win against someone who doesn't have one yet. The term constant release is what the Soul society uses to explain the anomaly that is Kenpachi Zaraki with the explanation that he simply isn't capable of sealing it and that is all you should understand at this time. Ichigo gets put into this category as well because his sword has many similar traits to Kenpachi Zaraki's. Further clarifications are actually just spoilers to things not yet revealed. Generally its best to take the shows explanations as they happen as that is the information you are supposed to have at the time but be open to the possibility that anything any character tells you could be wrong.

Constant release just means they suck ass at controlling their Spirit Pressure, thus they cant seal the Zanpaktou into a regular katana to later suprise enemies with. Also they need to have a crapton of Spirit Pressure , as a scrub weakling wont have a constant release even if he sucks at controlling his SP.

The answer to the constant release zanpakutou thing has evolved over time... as of the current place in the series there is really no such a thing as a constant release, and it isn't unique, it was something they came up with to explain kenpachi, as well as ichigo but it doesn't really apply to either for different reasons. There is also at least one other person that had thier zanpakuto released for at least 100 years... so yeah. That said it is something they try to pin on anyone with an unusual zanpakuto.

Constant release only happens if you have so much power, you physically cannot contain it in your zanpakuto. Therefore, it is forced to be in shikai at all times instead of it's sealed or "normal" state. Just like Kenpachi Zaraki. "What you see is my swords true form. I have so much spiritual pressure, even using all my might I can't seal it".
