This is probably the most important concept in Bleach that nearly all fans still don't accurately understand, even 20 years later: Every konpaku (soul) has a predestined limit on Reiatsu and Skill Mastery over Shinigami Arts (Shunpo aka Flash step, Hakuda aka hand to hand fighting, Zanjutsu aka sword fighting, and Kido aka spells). For every Shinigami who reaches a certain maturation/age, they will all eventually hit their predestined "peak" or limit. In addition, powerful Shinigami will almost always hit their peak by couple hundred years old. Unlike Dragon Ball, there's no way to go beyond your limit, unless you disable the boundary between races (hollow/shinigami). The only person we've seen so far undergo hollowification, is Ichigo when hollow took over during fight with Byakuya. More on this will be expanded on later in series.

The thing Aizen did with his finger after stopping Tensa Zangetsu, where he curled it over to rest the tip on the flat of the blade, was a classic example of misdirection. It kept Ichigo's shocked gaze on the finger that stopped his sword while Aizen slashed Ichigo. Considering Aizen's abilities are based around sensory manipulation, such trickery should be expected.

Spoilers for Naruto/Bleach uh no. Pain is 10x the villain Aizen is. Better backstory, better and more realistic ideology, better arc, op but has weaknesses that can be exploited. Just because hes smarter and stronger dont make him a better villain. To this day, Aizen's goals arent very complex. Dude just wanted to be at the top. Its not interesting as villain goals go. And the goals are the most important thing about a villain. We dont even have a proper backstory from him. For all we know, he was like this from the beginning. Even Orochimaru, we had a reason why he wanted to pursue immortality. He felt the weight of life to be so brittle after being in so many wars. Thus he pursued the dream of an immortal body. Pain suffered through the countless wars created by the 5 great nations, coming to hate them and wanting them to understand the pain his village suffered. Through Pain and the tailed beast weapon, he wished for peace. Aizen just wants to be the strongest yet in his quest for superiority, he became so bored with no contest that he created Ichigo. Thats really the only interesting part about Aizen was his own boredom got him beat. Pain's speech to Naruto about the cycle of hatred is still one of the greatest moment in Naruto. Killing Jiraiya, "killing" Kakashi, "killing Hinata", almighty push on the leaf. Pain was that villain that pushed Naruto to his utmost limits. Aizen is barely an S tier villain due to his badass and intellect alone, which is awesome but calling him the greatest villain is an overstatement. If you just said Aizen was the most badass or the smartest villain, I can get behind that. Personally think Madara is more badass but i wont argue with anyone who thinks Aizen is more badass. Both are on the same level. But as a villain, Aizen doesnt compare to the likes of Pain, Askeladd, Griffith, Johan, Meruem.

I mean yeah, back story and a complex reason is cool for a villain to have, top tier but some of the best villains, have no reason at all(Michael Myers) which makes my guy truly evil. He's so overpowered to the point I can feel the author's hand. Too smart, too powerful, never loses, except when the plot demands it, and only once! There are other deeper contrived and contradictory reasons beyond the surface level I can go into where his character just doesn't make sense, but I'll leave it here. Madara is a much better overpowered villain, and makes sense as a character. And this is coming from someone who doesn't even like Madara that much. And neither are even close to the greatest anime villain ever.

Urahara gave rukia the gigai after the first episode, when rukia lost her powers. So, hogyoku and ichigo has no connection at all. Where did the hollow inside ichigo come from? Thats the mystery for a later day. For now, hogyoku didn't do anything to ichigo
