Good luck telling everyone with a pulse they were wrong. Like you said, the living get to deal with all the usual stressors of life on top of Hollow attacks. Then you learn that the afterlife is just as bad with visible monsters and super powered swordsmen. The real kicker would be that if you wanna thrive in death, you gotta have the skills to get into the Soul Society.

That would never happen because they have memory erasing methods. Only those living humans who have spiritual pressure can see them, but they are so few, statistically speaking, that their claims would never be taken seriously. We see so many living characters who have spiritual pressure because they're the ones relevant to the story, but imagine how small a fraction the population of Karakura town they represent. Spiritual entities like hollows and soul reapers also don't show up on cameras, so there would be no solid evidence to prove their existence, either.
